Young Foundations was designed to encourage young Christians in their walk with Christ, and that is something that each and every article we post does. The testimony, poem or song that you send in might be just the thing that your fellow brother or sister in Christ needs to hear. That is God using you to encourage His needy children.
Hello brothers and sisters in Christ,
My name is Mindy and I am fifteen years old. The Lord has been doing wonderful things in my life and I would like to share it to encourage others who are going through struggles.
When I was almost two years old the Lord brought my mother into the Message. She raised my older sister and I in the Message, but my dad did not want anything to do with it. When I turned five my dad left home, but the good Lord kept my mom, my Sister, and I pressing on.
I remember sometimes I would stay up at night crying why did God let my dad leave home. I want to know what it is like to have a fatherly figure in my home. But He let it happen for a reason and I need to leave it up to Him. This little saying meant a lot to me “If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.” So is it in this case and in all cases.
When I had questions about the Message I would ask my mom, my sister, or I would call my pastor and each one of them would help me. Through those years my pastor has been like a dad to me. My sister took me to piano and harp lessons, and taught me school because my mom had to work a lot.
I saw my dad off and on. Also when I would call him, we would talk only 10 minutes if that. It was really hard to talk since we did not have things in common.
But this year 2011 has been a life changing year of prayers being answer. My sister just got married. More good news, my parents are getting back to gather! Praise the Lord! It is so wonderful to know the Lord Jesus cares.
This song has meant a lot to me through all the hard trials and even more now when I really start understanding the meaning of it:
- *When the valley is deep,
- *When the mountain steep,
- *When the body is weary,
- *When we stumble fall,
- *When the choices are hard,
- *When we're batter and scared,
- *When we spent are rescores,
- *When we’ve given our all.
- *In Jesus name we press on,
- *In Jesus name we press on,
- *Dear Lord with the price,
- *Clear before our eyes,
- *We find the strength to press on.
I ask for prayer though that my Dad will come to the revelation of this Message and to take it with all his heart. "PRAYER CHANGES THINGS AND THE MESSAGE IS WHAT WE NEED IN THIS LAODICEAN AGE.
