Witnessing In Macon

Some brothers in Macon, GA felt the pull to gather their youth group together (along with some adults) to do some witnessing in their home town. So we did our part to equip them with some Message material, and the rest was left to the young soldiers. Below is their report and some pictures of the blessed day the Lord gave them to tell others about the great prophet and Message God has given us.

Ever since the Young Foundations Jubilee Tour in June, we have had a desire to give our youth an opportunity to come together as a group to be witnesses of the Message in public venues in our area. After much prayer, research, and some planning, we felt led to have our first event at a local flea market. With English and Spanish witnessing cards on hand (along with other Message witnessing material), we were all set.

On the morning of the event at 6:50 a.m. before the sun could brighten the skies, early visitors or vendors passing by our set up had the opportunity to watch Brother Branham in the “Deep Calleth To The Deep” and “Twentieth Century Prophet” videos. After several brothers arrived, we approached our Heavenly Father in prayer to ask for His Divine Presence, assistance, and leadership. We came expecting the Lord to do great things, and we just knew we were in the right place. After a little while, a brother suggested we put on a gap tape to hear both English and Spanish at the same time. After a few challenges downloading a gap sermon, we got the victory and received a blessing from the Lord when we heard both English and Spanish. To all of us, it instantaneously felt like this was what the Lord wanted.

With the help of a few young people and some brothers (including two who spoke Spanish), we begin passing out witnessing cards. After a few more young people arrived, we gathered in prayer once more, looking to the Lord for His blessings to be among us as we put our efforts together to win souls to Christ. We adults were blessed just to participate, but it was even more of a blessing to witness the eagerness of our young people as they offered cards to the grown ups and candy to the little ones. Just as we expected, some people accepted the cards and some refused. But as time went on, some of the youth found the candy to be a good “bait” to bring the little ones and adults closer, giving the youth greater success in handing out cards.

The vast majority who took a card continued to walk while reading them. We were overtaken with joy with the few who took the time to look over and take with them the other material we had available. One brother told a lady, “Please take this. It’s free. It’s probably the only free thing you’ll take out of this flea market today.” The lady agreed. We were surprised as several people attempted to give us a donation, which we refused to accept. They were probably shocked as it is normal for denominational churches in the area to solicit donations and accept money freely.

As the day passed on, we had more youth and adults join us to help spread the Message of the Hour on cards and in song. Yes, you read correctly. We strategically rented display tables that were directly in front of a stage and had singing and music for hours. Just imagine the youth on stage worshiping and lifting praises to Jesus and shining the Light of the Gospel in an area that usually has devil worship blasting from the stereos of the regular vendors in that location. It was obvious that our youth were different from what people were used to seeing. There were some who slowed down to listen as they walked by, and some of the same people came back and stopped just to view this untypical scene and to listen to the worship. Some stopped immediately and stayed a few minutes while others lingered, singing songs they were familiar with or gazing intently at the youth in worship (with seemingly a longing in their heart for the possession of what our young people have).

All throughout the day, the Presence of the Lord could be felt by the believers, and we trust those who passed by our display could feel the change in the atmosphere. As we neared 5:00 p.m., it was hard to believe we had been there for ten hours. It seemed like the fastest ten hours we had ever experienced. With the blessings of the Lord resting upon us, we ended the day with another word of prayer to give thanks to God for His goodness to use us to catch some predestinated seed(s) from the crowd. Our pastor, Brother David Yancey, said that our mission was not to get people to Faith Tabernacle (our local church), but to get the people to www.themessage.com to receive the Message. And to that we say, “Amen”.

We want to say “thank you” to our young people and would like to express appreciation to Brother Joseph Branham, Young Foundations, and all who contributed to the success of this effort through support and prayers. We ask that you continue to pray for the people that received these cards and for the ones who will receive them at our future events, Lord willing. It would be wonderful after crossing over to the other side for someone to come and say, “My candle got lit after you gave me a card”.

May God richly bless you.
