Young Missionaries Guyana Trip - Part 3

The young Trinidad missionary group traveled back to Toka for a nights rest before moving on to the next stage of their journey, the village of Moruca.

TOKA TO MORUCA

After overnighting in Toka again, we left the next morning around 3 am on our trip back out, where we would set out to the river village of Moruca. We spent the next 17 hrs in traveling, transferring several times from buses to boats along the way. Once we arrived, we were met by many of the believers on the river bank that night about 8pm, helping the children with their luggage to their place of accommodation.

The young group of believers there is pressing forward, and we spent almost a week with them, encouraging them in the Message of the hour. Most of the new believers here are those who were not religious in the past, have never went to a church or have no knowledge of the Bible. In the last visit here, their church building was completed with the help of believers from Toka, Bonasika and Trinidad, and they started having regular services, where they would come together to listen to the Voice of God.

They were especially excited about this visit, as they were able to view for the first time Bro. Branham on video. It was so special to see the eyes of the people fixed on the prophet as he sat in the interview and told of his experiences with the Pillar of Fire. As they saw him in the prayer line, it seemed like you could tell that it was soaking deeply into them. They also saw dozens of videos showing the work of VGR, YF and different areas of the world where missionary works of this kind are being done. They were all encouraged to see that they were not alone in the world, but they saw for themselves the thousands of believers around the world that do the same thing they do, listen to the Voice.

There were many villagers that came to the gatherings, especially when they realized that there was so much about the ministry that they could view through these videos. There are quite a large number of young people and little children, and we had two morning sessions where we had some Cub Corner games, short skits and story-telling from the CC magazines, CC crafts with some of the little girls, Embroidery Creations for the bigger girls, stenciling and painting on jerseys, singing, and a nice lunch together. They loved it so much, they would have been glad if we could have done it every day.

The elders had an important meeting together fellowshipping about leadership and the Absolute being the prophet’s Message, and how they intend to continue on in the services playing the Voice. It was very fruitful. On our last Sunday service, we listened to the message “The Contest” 62–1231, and were blessed by the prophet’s prayer of re-dedication with us.

As the series of gatherings came to a close, there was one person desiring to be baptized, but little did we know that on the evening of the baptism, that nine souls would eventually take to the water. The baptism was held at the river’s edge in a part of the village where, according to them, the ‘hardliners’ live; people who generally have nothing to do with church or God. Many came out to witness, and some even visited the services afterwards.

It was also expressed to the people the power of the Jubilee sermons continuing into 2015, explaining the inspiration behind it, trusting the Lord that they would be listening along with us all, if the Lord tarries.

Early the next morning, around 6:30 am, we left Moruca, the saints waving on the river bank, en route to our second to last stop, which will be Bonasika Creek, then on to Mahaicony, before we leave for Trinidad on Christmas Eve.
