Solomon's Temple

This past weekend, the Jeffersonville homeschool students put into action and brought to life what they had learned throughout the school year. Over the past several months, they have been diligently attending special classes held at the YF Youth Center. What was the theme of their studies? The Word! As you can see from the report and pictures below, the children had an awesome time sharing their valuable information with the locals about Solomon's Temple.

It was a perfect day to display all that the study hall students had been working on over the last few months. All the children were dressed in Bible day costumes and were ready to show their parents and grandparents Solomon’s Temple.

King Solomon welcomed the guests to the temple, and each person got a time card of when their tour would begin. A group of young ladies acted the part of tour guides and led the visitors on a journey through the temple. As the tour passed by a stable of live lambs, they were told how that the sacrifices need to be perfect and without a blemish.

A cross stood out in the field, and the visitors were pointed to our perfect, blameless sacrifice; Jesus Christ. Before entering the temple, the tour passed a group of the sweetest young sisters in the “court of the women”. The young brothers stood by twos beside all the furniture pieces that they had so proudly help make during the study hall classes. The lavers, the molten sea, the brazen altar, the chief cornerstone, the great pillars, and the 7 stripes of blood before entering the inside of the temple were all made and displayed by the students. The students relayed quotes and facts that they learned about each piece, and they answered questions for their guests.

Once inside, the priests showed the table of shewbread, the lampstands, the altar of incense, and the veil. They told the story how the veil was rent in two from the top to the bottom when Jesus died on the cross.

The veil was pulled back and the tour was given an opportunity to see inside the Holiest of Holies. The high priest explained his outfit and how that he was only allowed into the Holiest of Holies once a year carrying the blood before him. He told how it was death to enter at any other time, but now we must all enter into the Holy Spirit.

The ark of the covenant, covered in gold and overshadowed by cherubims, was a sight to behold. The priest then pointed to a special treat, showing the tourists the actual picture of that same Pillar Of Fire that came down into the Holiest of Holies! They told how that the picture was taken thousands of years after King Solomon’s days, and It is the same Pillar Of Fire that we follow today.

After taking their tours, the people traded their money in for shekels and enjoyed some good old-fashioned fellowship and food. It really was a special day.
