An Introduction To QT

Brother Keith Herne, from our Cape Town, SA VGR office, recently gathered with a small group of youth and a few pastors to introduce them to Young Foundations and Quiet Time. Below is his report.

We left on Friday morning for Welkom, which is 1347 kilometers from Cape Town. When we arrived there, we were met by Brother Joseph Mathibela one of the pastors. I intended to book in at a motel or bed and breakfast but he and his wife would not hear of it and said that they wanted me to stay at their home.

We left on Saturday morning for the venue that was prepared for the meeting with the young people.

There were fifty of them present. It is a school holiday so some of them left for homes because that is the only opportunity that they have to go home.

I was called up to address them. I started by extending your greetings to them. I then told them how valuable and important they are, and how Brother Joseph is interested in the young people.

I introduced them to Quiet Time and encouraged them to partake in the global Q T. They were exited and wanted to know if they could have it more than once a month.
I spoke to Brother Tobelo, he is a young brother who is very keen and excited and was asking quite a lot of questions. He said they just want to do it right. I told him to send me a report and some pictures and testimonies when they have their gatherings and their Quiet times.

I am very happy that Brother Seth went with me because he played a big part in helping me with the displaying of the Still Waters and the YF websites. He also connected very well with the young people. We gave them the forms to sign up for the YF.

From what I have seen after spending this weekend with them, they are an excited and eager group of young people.

I also spoke to their pastors and they were very grateful to Brother Joseph for showing so much interest in their young people and allowing me to come and speak to them.
