A Priceless Moment

There's something that wells up inside of us when we hear these precious testimonies of how the Lord is speaking to the hearts of His little ones. It makes us so proud and thankful to be associated with God's children. How much prouder does it make our Heavenly Father?

Thank you so much for posting this article about Priceless Devotions With Children. I know that technically, YF is suppose to be for the unmarried young ones but honestly, sometimes I think it does more for us mothers than anything.

My children are attending a small Christian school, and there is another conservative mom there that I have kind of connected with. She is not a Message believer, but we have many things in common and we get together every couple weeks for coffee.

On our last visit, we were talking about our kids and she made mention that she doesn’t really talk to her kids too much about the Bible and things. She said that she would be surprised if her 7 year old daughter would even know what a Christian is. This really surprised me, but then as I started to think on how so many conversations about the Word get started with my children, I realized that a great majority is because of the tape quizzes. It forces me to explain things to them that most would think it beyond a child.

Recently we attended a birthday party for a little girl turning 5 who goes to school with my daughter. The kids were all running around playing and in one corner of the room. One of the mothers had set up a sparkle tattoo table and was giving all the little girls a “beautiful” sparkle tattoo. I immediately felt for Hannah, as she is such a little girly girl and I knew it would be hard for her to hear me say no when all her friends had sparkly hearts and flowers painted on them.

I watched Hannah stand by the table and observe another girl getting the tattoo. She then started to walk over to me, and I started to think of how to say no to her so she wouldn’t be too upset. Instead of asking though, she whispered into my ear, “Mommy, I don’t think that is something we should be doing.” With that, she went back to playing.

I was so proud of her that at 4 years old, she could recognize something that a Christian girl shouldn’t be doing, and the credit for that goes to the Lord speaking to her through these tapes. Just to see a desire in her to do what is right is such a blessing.

Thank you for all you do in encouraging us and helping us with testimonies and tools to help lead our children in the right direction.
