Trinidad - Creations Mother's Day Mug

Our brothers and sisters from Trinidad sent us the report and video/pictures from their special Mother's Day Creations class they had a this past Mother's Day.

We were really excited about the Mother’s Day Mug Creations project, as we had been thinking of something special to appreciate our moms. The believers had already planned to have lunch together after church with all the families on Mother’s Day.

When we saw the Creations project on the site, we knew that this would really be special, so we made contact with Creations to enquire about the stencils, as they had invited us to do, on the website. As usual, the love and concern coming from YF is overwhelming, as they contacted us both by email and phone, letting us know that they were more than willing to supply us with the amount of stencils that we needed, and when they heard that we would be doing it on Saturday, the day before Mother’s Day, they went the extra mile, to send it via Fedex, so that it would get there on time.

Everything worked out so nicely, even though the package arrived, due to the courier’s schedule, the day after, it made things just so much better, as we got the opportunity to show our moms that truly, “Every day should be a Mother’s day!”.

On Saturday, we gathered to have the first session of our project, where we did our Mother’s day lesson, and then the children decorated their saucers with their moms in mind. Because of the fact that the class preparation was on such short notice, we were unable to source the exact paint sharpies on the tutorial, as they are not sold in our country, so we used the next, very best replacement. We had 25 students, ages 7 –28 yrs in the class, and we had 30 moms that we wanted to present with the special tokens, so we invited some of the younger ages to complete the remaining five. The children did a great job of keeping their project a secret from their moms, so that their presentation would be exciting.

We received the package on Monday, so we were able to regroup everyone on Tuesday evening to complete the last part of the class, which was to apply the stencils and personalize the mugs. All the baking of the mugs and saucers were done the next day. Some of our moms have very young children, others have fully grown children, and some have 2 or 3 children in the class range, so they decided to share the love around to all the moms. Therefore, some of the children did their projects to give to another worthy mom, who did not have a child in the 7–28 age group, while one of their brothers or sisters did for their own mom. We included a little card along with the mugs, where the children wrote some little sentiments to their mothers.

We announced that we had something special planned for the mothers on Wednesday night, and after our night service, the secret was out, finally the mothers found out what their children were doing over the weekend. We had a nice time of presentations, cake cutting, ice cream eating and singing that night, and the moms were all smiles! When we told them the events surrounding their gift, and how that Creations had sent an extremely urgent package with them in mind, they felt so special, and humbled.

Thanks again to YF for their love for us all, and all the fathers, brothers, sisters and mothers that makes all these things possible, by the Grace of Our Lord. God Bless you all!

Your loved ones in Trinidad.
