The Young Foundations mobile bistro embarked on its eighth bistro a few weeks ago, marking the 10,000th mile (16,000th km) along the way. It seems that as each new bistro approaches, it is met with greater expectation of what the Lord will do. This was definitely the case for the next stop in central Germany. However, not only was the bistro staff in expectation, but also the excited youth.
Brother Branham often tells us to be in expectation of the Lord and even preached on Expectations multiple times.
Some youth are getting more familiar with each other since they have attended 2 or more bistros. Many enjoyed the fun activities and the fellowship, but more importantly they have come expecting something from the Lord.
We arrived Friday afternoon around 3 PM. Shortly after, we started setting up the games and coffee stand. By 6 PM some youth had already arrived. It’s always enjoyable to see the excited demeanor on kids faces as they see each other again. Some youth were separated by 2500 miles ( 4000 km), from close to the middle of Norway, to southern island of Sicily, Italy. This bistro was more international than the last few have been. There were over 40 young people from Germany, Italy ,The Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Switzerland, U.S.A.
After hours of traveling time, seated in an airplane or car, no doubt they were all happy to enjoy several vigorous games of volleyball and dodgeball the evening before YF bistro.
On bistro day we started the schedule just a little earlier than planned, since most everybody was already present. This time the first who got to enjoy a short game of ping pong, was… the YF staff!
The various activities such as nine-high, ping pong, corn hole, foosball, Uno, Bible Trivia, chess, etc., speak a language that all young people understand: fun & fellowship. As instrumental Gospel songs softly played in the background, the different voices of the distractions of the world were fading away. Lunch time arrived quickly, beckoning the young folks to satisfy their hungry stomach’s. Quiet time was next on the menu where they had a chance to get quiet and feed their souls. Some read their Bibles, others silently prayed, some could be seen listening to a sermon of Brother Branham.
“And I’m taught that when we eat… If we are used to eating small portions, our stomach shrinks to that portion. And if we eat much, our stomach stretches to that. And I think we need some spiritual stretching, and get much of the Word. Can’t be satisfied with just reading a little verse once in a while, or something of that manner, but stretching our spiritual gastronomics…” ~ Brother Branham.
Some joyful and melodious songs were sung after quiet time for some 20 minutes. “Swing Low, Sweet Chariot”, “I say amen,” “I’m gonna stay right under the Blood,” “There is going to be a meeting in the air”, it was wonderful to sing praises to our King, the Lord Jesus. Another couple hours of activities was yet to be continued. The excitement never ceased.
That evening, we listened to God’s prophet as spoke on “By Faith, Moses.” It was a wonderful Message, in which we as Christians, young and old alike, can identify ourselves. It seems that every sentence Brother Branham spoke, was a sentence one could highlight. The service concluded as we sang In The Sweet By And By. The sweet Holy Spirit was present there to fill each person. Worship continued for a little while, even after dismissal. Nobody wanted to leave. Victory songs were sung and the youth were marching to Zion.
God bless you
