Squirrel Hunting Day In Baltimore, MD

This Baltimore, Maryland church group had a wonderful idea that they experienced during the special time of Brother Branham's favorite time of year. Below is the report and some pictures that they shared.

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! We have a wonderful testimony we would like to share with you all of the very special youth day we had here in Baltimore.

When we heard what Brother Joseph mentioned in church on Aug, 14th and the article posted on YF as well about how Aug 15th is a very important holiday for us believers, Squirrel Season, we knew we had to do something special. We usually try to have events every Saturday for our youth, like YF Bistro and Creations classes. For the upcoming Saturday, Aug 20th, we felt led to have a different kind of event; we were to go squirrel hunting!

The idea seemed strange to some at first, maybe because we don’t really have any “hunters” in our fellowship and also being not far from downtown Baltimore. But every believer will agree that you don’t have to be a hunter to realize how the Lord molded Brother Branham to be a prophet of the wilderness, like Elijah of old, and used this season to introduce the greatest part of his ministry, the third pull.

That Saturday afternoon when we gathered together, we were greeted with a nice sign, courtesy of a family of believers, to let us know what this event was for. We then opened up in a word of prayer, then we explained to the youth what this was all about and the meaning of this season to the believer. We discussed many of the hunting stories Brother Branham shares with us and how God met him out there “on the backside of the desert”. The theme Scripture was Mark 11:23, the same Scripture Brother Branham was meditating on when the Lord came to him in that super anointing. We also played a quote from the message, 65-1127E: "I Have Heard But Now I See", where he tells what happen on that day when he spoke squirrels into existence. We then had an activity from the Cub Corner Issue #5, where they had to circle all of the squirrels Brother Branham would have shot, as well as a squirrel coloring page.

Before we moved onto the next portion of the day, we had some refreshments for every one and a special treat; squirrel!! Well, squirrel shaped cookies that is: ). Due to not being able to find any squirrel cookie cutters, it was the help of another believer that made a cookie cutter out of a soda can! We don’t know if anybody had more than their daily limit, but they sure were good!

We had a brother that does some target shooting share with us what a real .22 rifle looks and feels like, and we also got to take aim at some squirrels in a tree (not real squirrels or a real tree). All safety was observed while handling firearms. Due to rules and regulations we could not fire a real .22 rifle but we were able to shoot squirrel targets with a .177 pellet gun. We had our range set up in an empty field behind our church and our targets ready. The youth were assisted with hunting and shooting their squirrel targets. They had a blast “hunting” their squirrels. Once all the youth had a chance even some adults couldn’t help but give it a try. One brother even shot a squirrel in the eye.

Soon it was time to pack our bags and head home. After we had a group picture of the youth with their game, and then closing in prayer and thanking the Lord for this special event, we reluctantly headed to our homes.

We can’t thank the Lord enough for the blessing it is to be called out into this Message and for Brother Joseph and the sacrifice he and all the saints at Voice of God make each day for the Bride. May we all be ready and consecrate ourselves to the Lord so that we too can take part in those kind of hunting stories as our precious Brother Branham.

-God richly Bless you all.
