Germany Youth Camp
Wednesday, June 10, 2009
There was excitement in the air at this Easter’s youth banquet in Jeffersonville when it was mentioned that Young Foundations may possibly hold a YF youth camp in Germany this summer. You can let your excitement run, because we are making preparations now!
Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
Young Foundations is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a camp in Bitburg, Germany on September 11, 12, and 13th, and we are inviting you to attend. The camp will be open to European, U.S., and Canadian believers who are signed up in YF, 18-30 years old, and have never been married. There will be young brothers and sisters from many nations coming together for a wonderful time of Christian fellowship centered around the Message of the hour.
Last year's European camp in Lake Garda, Italy was a life-changing experience for numerous young believers. We saw language, cultural, and religious barriers tore down by the simplicity of Christian love with believers of like precious faith. We experienced an unforgettable weekend of sightseeing, fellowship, and worship in the Lord that resulted in lifelong friendships and untold blessings. Testimonies of God’s amazing grace flooded in after the camp, and we are still receiving them almost a year later. We are expecting even greater blessings in the Lord this year, and we hope you can join us for this special event.
Like last year’s trip to Italy, the North American youth will fly together from the U.S. on the same flight with YF personnel. They will then meet up with the European brothers and sisters once they arrive at the camp. The camp will be well-chaperoned by YF staff the entire time.
Those arriving from the U.S will be staying in a hotel near the beautiful Rhine River the first night in Germany. They will wake up to an authentic German breakfast before they tour an ancient castle and enjoy the gorgeous German countryside studded with castles. Then they will continue on to the camp for a Spirit-filled weekend. These will be memories that will last a lifetime!
If you are interested in attending the camp and are from the U.S. or Canada, it is very important that you follow the directions below. If you are from Europe, you can register immediately with the European office by emailing them at europe@vgroffice.org, or calling them at phone number: 31-599-651-570. The registration in Europe ends on July 20th, so please contact the office as soon as possible. HOWEVER, FOR THOSE FROM THE U.S. AND CANADA WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING REGISTRATION UNTIL JULY 20th AT 9:00 A.M. EASTERN STANDARD TIME.
Here is what you will need to do once the registration date arrives:
-
1. Call Voice Of God Recordings (812-256-1177) to reserve your spot for 24 hours, and pay the $450 camp fee with a credit card ONLY (your card will not be charged until you complete step 2). The camp fee covers all food and lodging from your arrival in Germany until the end of the camp.
-
2. Purchase your airline tickets within the allotted 24 hours. You will be informed which flight you must book when you call. Please note that we will be leaving the country on September 9th and returning on September 14th. You will be responsible for getting to AND returning from the departure city in the U.S. NO ALTERNATE OVERSEAS FLIGHTS WILL BE PERMITTED. EVERYONE MUST BE BOOKED ON THE SAME FLIGHTS. Currently the roundtrip price from the U.S. to Germany on this flight is less than $600. However, the price will go up rapidly as the plane gets full, plus you will need to pay for any airfare costs to and from the departure city here in the U.S.
-
3. Within 24 hours of step 1, call Voice Of God Recordings and confirm that you have purchased your tickets on the designated overseas flight. Your credit card will then be charged the $450 camp fee.
-
4. If you don’t have your passport, get started on obtaining one immediately. Sometimes it can take months to get them back. (There are options to rush passport applications, both from your local post office and through various internet sites.)
-
5. Pray for a great camp and come expecting!
If you have any questions concerning the camp, please contact Young Foundations before July 20th, so that the registration goes smoothly.
