Malawi QT and Bistro

A little fun and good fellowship, along with a special time alone with the Lord, makes for a mighty rewarding and blessed day for any young believer. Brother Joseph's burden for these young soldiers has carried long and far, and continues to build on the Foundation of their walks with Christ.

Below is a wonderful report from Malawi of one such day.

December 5, 2015, will ever remain engraved in the minds of the youth from around Blantyre City and a few from outside town.

It was Bistro Day and Quite Time. It was the first ever Bistro for the youth organized by VGR-Malawi Office; thanks to Brother Joseph for the timely gift of bistro equipment for the youth of Malawi. This is a true reflection of the great love he has for the youth.

When an announcement was made during the November Quite Time, that we would have both bistro and Quite Time on December 5, the youth waited curiously for the day to arrive. Bistro was at that point a huge mystery to a big percentage of our youth; most of them didn't know what it was all about. That left most of the youth anxious and impatiently waiting for the day.

Finally the day arrived, the youth came in their large numbers. The patronage was almost doubled the one we usually have during QT. Everybody came to see what bistro was all about.

Clear skies welcomed the Saturday morning, but as soon as we were about to start, dark clouds quickly covered the skies and rains started to fall. Realizing we didn't have enough space to sit all inside the building, a prayer was offered for bright skies, and Praise the Lord, after some minutes the skies cleared off, and it was bright again.

After singing two songs, Brother Saidi welcomed the youth, and thanked them for coming in large numbers. He reminded them that Brother Joseph would like to help the youth in their Christian walk with Christ. Brother Saidi announced that Brother Joseph had bought bistro equipment for them. He also assured the youth that Brother Joseph would do everything that he could to help them walk closer to the Lord.

The atmosphere was electric; joy visibly emanated from the youth that gathered. Smartly dressed in their Quite Time t-shirts, it was all awe-inspiring.

As they went into the bistro session, they were placed in groups. The impression was that the youth would have to be taught how to play the games, but the moment they had a glimpse of the equipment, it was different; all one heard was, hooolah, yaaaaaaaa, hoooo, hand clappings…..so on and so forth. It was so exciting, so much that lunch was not counted as needful. When time came to break and move into Quite Time session, the youth had not had enough of the games, and requested that they be allowed to come back once more for the bistro.

The Quite Time was the icing of the cake. After the bistro mood, the Quite Time frame of mind came in naturally, and everybody dedicated, surrendered unto the Master in meditation, reading and praying.

It was all wonderful and what a day well spent unto the Lord!

God bless you,

Brother Saidi
