Raking Leaves in Quebec

We were happy to receive this report of a handful of brothers who took part in Raking Leaves this year, in Canada.

God bless you precious brothers and sisters!

Last year, I was looking at the photos of the activity called “Racking Leaves” and this had a really big impact on me. I just felt I wanted to help my fellow brothers and sisters as well. So often we want to help or do something, but we just don’t know how to do so or where to start at. What a good way to spend our energy, by helping our brothers: racking leaves!!

I can’t hide from you; I’ve been in the expectation to do it the whole year. We might not have been as many young people as in Jeffersonville, but the blessing was just as much! We were able to do this exercise 2 consecutive Saturdays. I didn’t warn any of the brothers that we were coming.

One of the first places we went, the brother was happily awakened by our 2 blowers (which make a lot of noise). He told us that less than 30 minutes before we arrived, he was looking outside by the window and he was wondering where he would find time to rack the leaves. No need to say, it’s one time he was happy to be awakened! When he looked outside, 5 young Christians were racking the leaves.

The week after, we went to an elder brother’s house. We did not know, at that time, that he was currently watching over the Church. Church is always open for Quiet Time and for prayer during Saturday. What a surprise he had when he came back. It gave us just enough time to clean all the leaves! We had 2 garbage cans that we were using to transport the leaves. I’m sure we filled at least 50 garbage cans full of packed leaves. Since the brother was living nearby a forest, there was a place where we could dump the leaves. Considering we usually can fill 2 bags with 1 garbage can; it would have taken 100 bags.

We were able to rake 6 different places in 2 days, and I can say, the satisfaction I have in my heart from helping my fellow brother and sister can’t be described. I thank the Lord for the leadership of Brother Joseph and all the inspiring things that are shown on YF website.

Keep up the good work!

God bless you richly, your brother in Christ.
