It was on a trip to Kenya when Brother Joseph Branham met Brother Jackson Silla, and Brother Barnabas Kariuki and first decided to record translations in the Kiswahili language.

In 1985, Brother Silla and Brother Barnabas were flown to the United States to record the Kiswahili translated sermons in the VGR studio in Jeffersonville. These were the first recordings produced by VGR in our gap style of hearing one sentence of Brother Branham in English followed by a translation in Kiswahili. One of these first Kiswahili recordings was How The Angel Came To Me.

These Kiswahili recordings were an immediate success in Kenya, and are now used throughout Tanzania, Uganda, Democratic Republic Of The Congo, Rwanda, and Burundi.

Brother Barnabas is still responsible for the original translations of the Kiswahili manuscripts and Brother Silla still proofs the manuscripts for a final time before actually being the "voice" translator and recording the sermons. After the recording of each sermon is finished the manuscript is used to print the book.

So far, over two million Kiswahili books have been printed, including 108 single sermon books and eight multi-sermon books. Now, 120 recorded sermons are available in Kiswahili and all are also available on MP3 CD's. We are thankful for the efforts of these dedicated brothers.
