Local Home School Program Thursday, December 15, 2011

A few weeks ago, the Young Foundations Choir had the honor of singing for the elders at our Giving Thanks event at Still Waters Lake. This past Friday evening, they were invited and given another honor to sing at the Christmas program for the local home school group of Jeffersonville.

The church where the event took place was large enough to seat 800 people, and a good portion of the seats were filled. The program was considerably different than anything this church had seen before. Not only did the home school children sing and act out little Christmas skits about the Lord Jesus, but skit after skit and song after song reflected the Message of God's prophet, and what he taught them about the Christ in Christmas.

The YF choir was the last group to enter the stage and conclude the program. No doubt this church had a trained choir that sang every week of the year, but there was something different about this group of young singers. The Holy Spirit had already been more than welcomed through the love and faith the home school children displayed in His Word. His presence could be felt, and It only grew stronger as the choir lifted up their voices to sing to the Heavenly Father once again.

Knowing our Lord was present, the song "We Are Standing On Holy Ground" sank deep in each heart. The young Home School choir then joined with the YF choir as they told the audience how "Jesus' Love Is Bubbling Over," hand motions and all. For the climax, they burst into the song "Sing Hallelujah To The King." Their voices grew louder and louder as the King of Kings drew nearer. The audience joined the two choirs in the song of worship, and together we sang Hallelujah to the King.

It was a great honor and blessing to be part of a program that was centered around the only Eternal thing we have, not Santa Clause and material gifts, but the Word of God. We applaud the parents who have taught their children this most valuable lesson. It was visible in every one of them on the evening of this event.
