Haiti Missionary Sponsorship Project
Wednesday, October 19, 2011
We are really excited to announce our next Cub Corner Missionary Sponsorship project. This one will be a little shorter than most, because we want to send young believers in Haiti a special little surprise package just from you.
Our goal is to give every young Message believer in Haiti a surprise package before Christmas this year. We thought it would be a great way to tell them we love them, and although they sometimes feel alone, they aren't. They have friends like you all around the world!
Here are some facts about Haiti:
Haiti is the poorest nation in the Americas, in fact, most Haitians live on $2 or less per day - so buying anything extra for the kids can be almost impossible.
There are thousands of Message believers in Haiti.
Hayti is the Indian name for Haiti, and means "Land of the mountains."
Royal palm trees are everywhere in Haiti and can reach 60 feet tall.
Half of the population in Haiti practices voodoo, so they are in great need of the Message.
The Gourde is the official currency (money system) of Haiti.
