Mutare Banquet Report Saturday, September 24, 2011

Following the banquet jubilee in Harare a few days ago, the waves of blessings didn't slow down at our second Zimbabwe banquet in Mutare. Below is the report of the bountiful experience the Lord supplied.

On this the 27th day of August 2011, Holiday Inn Mutare was honored to host some of the greatest people to walk the face of the earth. A special group of young people who had received the message of the prophet were going to gather at this venue, each bringing their little flick of fire till they had a Pillar of Fire warming the fellowship in their midst.

By 4.45pm, the registration queue was steadily winding longer as excited young people poured into the hotel ready for a night packed with spiritual goodies. They were served with welcome juice as they neared the registration table where they signed in and got the Early Spiritual Experiences crossword puzzle to start working on. As the soft music went on, heads cracked and pens swayed as many tried to retrieve information from a few Sunday school lessons they had been paying attention in. In the end, several ganged up on it and tackled the questions together. There was a real warm atmosphere in the room as the seats filled up and they all got acquainted with each other.

'Okay, pens down,' Brother G said. It was time for the chaperones to collect the puzzles and the feast to begin. After an opening prayer, Brother G asked how many were happy to be present and a myriad of hands went up followed by a resounding round of applause in thanksgiving to the Lord who had availed such an opportunity. He told this distinguished group of young people how God has put a burden on Brother Joseph Branham's heart to encourage them in their walk with Christ. He went on to explain a bit about the Foundation as the prophet says in the tape It was not so from the beginning 59-0405A, That for anything to be strong, it has to have a strong foundation. Be it a building, a home or a Christian Life. 'If there is a tomorrow,' he said, 'we are banking on you.'

Bro Gerald Buitenkamp was introduced to address the smiling faces. He shared the experiences he'd had in different places and events where other young believers of like precious faith for the very same purpose they had. 'God enjoys that his people have a good time,' he said. 'We just want you to have a good time and enjoy good clean fun as young Christians. You need this. Take time to listen to the prophet, stay encouraged and talk to each other. God Bless You,' were his last words. Succeeding this was a prayer for the food and then food! A tantalizing combination of dishes made up a feast fit for a king. And what better diners could sit together and enjoy such a meal than the sons and daughters of The King!

Above the clatter of cutlery rose an evident ebb of a kindred spirit that they all shared. In one accord and one spirit they fellowshipped. Sure another Pentecost was inevitably imminent. The singing kicked off strong. After settling that the Messiah was indeed the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, they got down to trampling the devil after casting their burdens unto the Lord Jesus.

One young brother was called up to lead another native devil stomping song. There was no room up front on this one. One had to be careful not to get their toes stomped on together with the devils'! A number of the youths had refused to let their shoes restrict them, with bare feet they stomped with all their worth. Satan was sure trampled to a pulp that night; they made no mistake about that! Bro Gerald, who'd become the official song leader of the song on this trip, was also called up to lead Hakuna Wakaita saJesu. Once he got started, everybody was hooked. Telling the world on the top of their voices that there is no one like loving Jesus! After a few good special songs, the winners of the quiz were called up. It turned out that nine people had got the same mark. Three brothers and six sisters! All nine were called up. Indistinguishable sounds and hums filled the room when about five of the sisters stood from the same table sitting next to each other. With a chuckle Brother G assured them that a solution to their imaginations and loud thoughts would be availed. When all nine were lined up front, sudden death questions on the prophet's life and ministry were hurled at them. If one had an answer he/she had to raise their hand. If however you did not have the answer, you would silently and humbly make your way back to your seat accompanied by several excited chuckles from friends and table mates. It wasn't long before one brother and one sister were left standing and a very thrilled audience clapped for the two winners as they received their special prizes. The special Anniversary Edition of the Scofield Bible. This was a very enjoyable part of the evening for all. Brother G reminded the young people what the Bible says, ‘You have to be ready to give an answer on what they believe.

Our guest speaker for the evening was introduced. The greatest preacher of our day, Brother William Marrion Branham. The tape started and we were all held spellbound in the presence of the Lord as the prophet spoke on Paul A Prisoner of Jesus Christ.

As each story from the Bible was told, it left one wanting more and more to be a willing and fully surrendered prisoner of the Lord Jesus Christ. By the time the prophet asked us to bow our heads for prayer, we were ready to turn ourselves in.

As we sang "I surrender all," the altar was filled with dedicated young people who had dared to separate themselves from this untoward generation and make a stand for Christ. Spontaneous prayer followed. Anything could've happened in the kind of presence that surrounded us that night.

It’s always difficult to leave with such a sweet atmosphere around you. You would want to stay and keep licking the molasses off of each other for as long as you can. Unfortunately we had to part but not before the special gifts from Brother Joseph Branham had been handed out to each attendee. So everyone left with their Prisoner of Christ T-shirt and a tape boy/girl lapel pin!

It was a very happy, thankful and recharged bunch of young believers who slowly wandered out of the Hotel lobby on their way back home, ready to face the world as Prisoners of Christ.
