This final Zimbabwe banquet of just over 150 joyful youth of Africa, proved once again that God makes no mistakes in the leading of His Holy Spirit. Our office representative gives the praise report below of the outpouring of God's love and grace to His thirsty children.
Bro Branham told us that Jesus is a gentleman, He meets all His appointments. He had one on this night. A very special one that He wasn't going to miss. A part of His little Bride was going to gather around the table. And unlike Simon the pharisee's feast, He was very welcomed in this one.
He was probably the first person to arrive, and waited patiently with great anticipation to receive His beloved ones as they walked in.
As the cheerful young people filed into the hotel lobby, curious onlookers could be seen casting quizzing eyes toward them, wondering where such a rare treasure had been dug. One by one they filed past the registration table into the joys that the Lord had prepared for them that evening.
With soft music playing in the background, and glasses filled with cool juice shuttling between lips and tabletops, it was a in a very relaxed atmosphere that these young people worked on their Early Spiritual Experiences crossword puzzles. When the appointed time was up, the chaperones collected the puzzles. Brother G gave everyone a genial welcome and immediately got down to some singing to get them all warmed up for the promising night.
Already, they had left their seats, jovially dancing away on the open space up front. This was only the beginning. A luscious and delectable mixture of dishes made up a hearty meal which they all enjoyed in a very harmonious environment. As forks and knives cleared away the plates, the fellowship they all shared cleared away any barriers that could have existed among them. By the time the last dessert bowl had been cleared, the stage was set for the fire to fall.
The song service got off to an explosive start. The first few songs had them up front, bare feet and all, dancing with all their might. Higher and higher they exalted their Lord Jesus. Lower and lower they tramped satan lower. Clapping, jumping, stomping, shouting and wiping sweat off their brows they gave praise to God. The Hotel staff weren't going to be left out. Chefs and waiters could be seen dancing and clapping as they went about their duties.
After a special song, Brother Gerald Buitenkamp was given a chance to say a few words. He told the story of a young artist who was living in Rome that Bro Branham speaks of on the tape Fellowship 62-0519. This young man would always separate himself from the rest of them when they were having their fun time and would go to watch the sunset. An old caretaker always noticed him. One day he decided to ask this young man why he conducted himself the way he did. It turned out that this young man had made a vow together with his fiancée way across the sea, that they would watch as God moved the sun across and live true to each other till he came back to make her his bride. And oh if we as Christians could separate ourselves from everything of the world for someday He is coming for us. He expressed how privileged the young people were not to be partying with the world, but having a good time in the Lord. It was a wonderful exhortation indeed. He finished off with the favorite, Hakuna Wakaita saJesu. Needless to mention the screams, cheers, singing and dancing that followed.
The winners of the quiz were announced. Again there were ties. Three sisters and two brothers. All five were called up. With hundreds of keen, exhilarated eyes fixed on them, sudden challenge questions were asked like, "Who was the messenger to the fourth church age?" (and when it got hot), "In which seal was the black horse rider?" In a few minutes we had two winners standing, a brother and a sister. They were privileged to receive the precious Anniversary Edition of the Scofield Bible.
Brother G highlighted how important it was for the young people to get busy with the books and tapes. He pointed out that if the Lord tarries, we will need Sunday School teachers in the different churches, pastors… and this habit will be an invaluable investment that will pay off if it's stuck to.
The special guest for the evening was introduced, Our Precious Brother William Marrion Branham. Prophecy was being fulfilled when they all settled down to hear The Voice of the seventh angel ministering again among the peoples of Africa, fulfilling the prophet's long time desire.
In the tape "A Prisoner For Christ," Brother Branham constantly made reference to the words, 'young man,' 'young woman,' 'boys and girls.' Yes he was speaking directly to this audience of young believers. Telling them how other ambitious young people like Moses and Paul had made it through life as prisoners to inherit the everlasting reward, after discarding their own selfish ambitions and intentions and surrendering their lives to God. He who keeps his life shall lose it but he that loses his life for the sake of the Gospel shall preserve it.
At the end of the tape, dozens of rueful hearts relinquished their lives into the hands of the Lord Jesus. The altar was packed full as they each took up their spot around the Fountain of Life. Yes there was room at the Fountain for all.
As it always is after a tape, they all wanted to stay and keep praying but had to stop for time's sake. They were encouraged to continue with their prayer at home and all the time. Although they didn't all win prizes, Brother G told them that they'd all leave with a little memento to remind them of the special time they had shared. Gratefully the young people received their prisoner for Christ T-shirts and their tape boy/girl lapel pins.
They left the banqueting hall for the lobby to squeeze in some last minute fellowship before they all left, rejuvenated and ready to stand as Prisoners for Christ.
The following report came from one brother who looks after the Voice Of God Office in Bulawayo...
YOUNG FOUNDATION REPORT
The youths have been blessed very much by the banquet here in Bulawayo. I noticed a change in the response that the youths showed by coming to the Local Library. Young people some of whom I never seen at the library starting to make their own reading and listening programs. They are so eager to work for the Lord Jesus and are now involved outreach work in their different churches. Many young people came to the library and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the organizers of the functions. I remember one brother that came in and asked me how he deserved to ever be part of the banquet, "It was unbelievable that I was invited to be part of it," said the brother.
On their behalf I would want to pass my sincere gratitude to Br Joseph Branham for affording our youths such an opportunity. A considerable number of youths travelled from Hwange which is about 325 KM northeast of Bulawayo. It was a memorable day to our youths. The memory will last for a longtime in their young minds which now are purposed to be prisoners of Christ. The tape message that was played that night blessed them very much and has inspired many to spread the message. Even as you walk in town you can meet one of those youths wearing the T-shirts they received from Voice of God and those pin-ups with a smile on their faces.
One thing we would like to mention in this report is the emphasis that Br Gordon Tutani made on listening to the prophet himself. We had a guest speaker that night as it was a big surprise to hear that our very own prophet was the special speaker that night. Oh what a refreshing time it was, you could fill the atmosphere of a great revival coming forth. Almost all the youths knelt down at the altar to ask for mercy. One sister I never seen at the library before came and asked if there is any MP3 player to borrow for listening to the prophet. I was so touched to see these people coming to the well of water who at previous moments were regarded unspiritual.
I want to thank our brother who came all the way from Europe to be with us. The song that he sang for us in vernacular encouraged the young ones. Many commented that he was just like one of us. May God bless Brother Gerald for the humility which testified to many young people. There is also a big response from the youths about that Voice of God hundred years memorial bible everyone wants to own his/her own. We are so thankful to get such an opportunity, we just praying that it happens again in our life if the Lord tarries.
Your Brother,
William- Voice of God Bulawayo
