Cape Town SA Youth Banquet Thursday, May 19, 2011

Cape Town was the final of the three youth banquets to be held in SA, but there was no less hype here than in Johannesburg or Durban. Once again the Lord was present and provided an incredible blessing to the youth of this area. Below is Brother Keith's report.

Greetings to you in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We arrived one hour before the time at the Kelvin Grove where the banquet was held. To our surprise there were some of the young people who arrived before we even got there.

We went through the program with the hotel staff to make sure that there would be no glitches during the proceedings.

Within the first thirty minutes there were twenty of the young people who arrived. By their dashing outfits and the smiles on their faces, it was obvious that they were under great expectations. While they were waiting for the doors to open, they were posing and getting acquainted and taking photos with each other. All this was building up to the already high expectations.

Eventually I announced the time for them to enter. Sister Gaylene with her crew was ready and waiting for them with the forms to mark off their names as they entered. Next their sizes were taken for the T-shirts. This was all done at the registration table. As they entered the elaborately decorated hall, they were given the quizzes and took their seats.

It did not take long for the hall to fill up and the registered amount to take up their seats. The chaperones were on time when I called upon them to take up the quizzes and the delicious soup was served at the tables.

After the soup, the young people lined up at the tables where the scrumptious buffet was waiting for them. They were pleasantly taken back at the dessert that followed.

After the desserts the winners of the quizzes were announced, and every one shared in the joy and applauded when the sister and brother were handed their prizes

The time came for Brother Gordon to take the platform, and as usual he started with singing and everyone joined in. Very soon we had all the young people clapping their hands and marching around the tables. Some of the Xhosa young people willingly came forward to render an item in Xhosa.

Brother Gordon stressed to the youth how important, valuable, and loved they are as young people. Then the most important speaker was announced, Brother Branham.

While Brother Branham was preaching the Message "Paul A Prisoner," slowly heads were lowered and hands were raised. Amen's rang out loudly as the prophet's voice zeroed into their hearts.

After the profound message, and the atmosphere still charged with the presence of the Lord, the young people didn't need any persuasion to come forward to rededicate their lives to the Lord and surrender themselves as prisoners of Jesus Christ. Those who could not get a place at the front, stood or knelt at their tables and chairs speaking to the Lord.

When they were through pouring out their hearts as they were on their knees with their hands raised, they were told by Brother Gordon to go back to their seats. They all joined in one accord as they sang "I Love Him."

Brother Gordon led them again into singing. With their spirits lifted and free after listening to the tape, it was almost an impossible task to stop them from singing and rejoicing. It affected the hotel staff so much that they laid out a table with tea and coffee for them to keep the refreshments coming as the youth worshiped the Lord.

It was announced repeatedly that the banquet was over, but the honey was so thick that the young people gathered outside and was licking from each other even as many parents just stood aside and patiently waited till they were through.

As Monday was a public holiday, many of them came to the house at the office and arranged a barbecue. The only topic was Young Foundations and their appreciation to Brother Joseph and the Voice of God.

God bless you!

Brother Keith

Here are some more "thank you" notes we received from some of the youth who attended the Cape Town banquet.

Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. VGR can smile and safely declare that. "WE ARE ENCOURAGING YOUNG CHRISTIANS IN THEIR WALK WITH CHRIST." The Cape Town banquet was like Heaven to me, a rejuvenation and revival in less than 24hours. How wonderful when young saints assemble together -- a taste of eternity when all saints will gather in the bliss of youth!! Shalom

I just wanted to say from the depths of my heart thank you very much for all the time and effort that you and the rest of the believers put in for the banquets. I really enjoyed every moment of it, the word, the encouragement, the singing even the food. I feel really blessed to have been apart of it. It really made a difference in my life. Sometimes as we go through this journey everything becomes common, thank you once again for reminding us who we are, and how privileged people we are to be apart of the Bride.

May God richly bless you, keep you, and grant your every desire of your heart. Have a blessed day further.

A prisoner of Christ
