Durban SA Youth Banquet
Wednesday, May 18, 2011
Following the Johannesburg youth banquet was another special evening planned out for the youth of Durban, SA. Word had already spread across the country, and the youth were in high spirits before the night even began.
Below is one of the many wonderful reports we received after the banquet:
It is with great excitement that I write this note of thanks to you VOG. Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light.
From the time we started preparing for this occasion at home, the excitement to be a part of the banquet was tangible. Our expectation was high, yet nothing could have prepared us for the wonderful time we were going to experience. From the time we drove into the car park, and were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff, we knew that we were experiencing something special. Sis Gaylene and yourself, met us in the entrance hall and welcomed us to be a part of this special event. The atmosphere amongst the young people was charged, and you could sense that they were looking forward to an evening together, with young people of like precious faith.
After a successful registration process, the young people were ushered into the fabulously decorated hall, beautifully laid tables and chairs covered in pure white, a symbol of what was to come that evening. From the time we opened in prayer, and you gave a welcome speech to the young people, declaring the vision of VOG and Young Foundations, the tone was set for the evening.
A sumptuous feast of great variety was served, and I think we can readily admit that everyone had a bit more than they should have and yet we were still unable to have all that was offered. We were served by the waiters and felt like royalty with them standing by to see to our well being. After a brief time of fellowship the important part of the banquet started and brother Gordan took over the program.
We had a wonderful time of singing and worship, with the young people marching around the tables, singing "We are marching over to Jerusalem." The presence of God was in the place, and our hearts were fully prepared for the Word which was to come. What a wonderful surprise it was to have the prophet speaking to us, and encouraging us to be prisoners like Paul was, to give up our worldly ambitions, and to be totally dedicated to the cause of Christ. The Word gripped the hearts of the young people, and we witnessed their expressions as they sat and were encouraged to dedicate themselves by God's Voice for today.
When the tape ended we witnessed how the tapes, or the Voice from the tapes, still have the power to convict and save, as the young people responded to the alter call immediately and flocked to the alter with tears streaming down their faces, their hands raised to the skies. In their beautiful dresses and smart suits, they went to their knees, pledging to rededicate themselves, to lose their ambitions all for the cause of Christ. Oh how we long to see more of this, oh how we long to hear the Voice of Malachi 4 shouting out and calling the Bride to perfection.
Our thanks go out to you, Sister Gaylene, Brother Gordan, and Brother Joseph Branham for availing yourselves to the cause of Christ, as well as for allowing the young people to feel respected, trusted and recognized as a part of the "Bride of Christ." We pledge our prayers and support to you and VOG for the tape meetings that will be starting in our city. We are positive that these meetings will be profitable, and will bring on that "Revival of the Bride" in Durban.
God Richly bless you. HEB 13:8 Jesus Christ the same Yesterday, and today, and forever.
On speaking to a few of the young people, the following comments/remarks were made which no doubt expresses the sentiment of everyone else present:
• One sister was curious to know who was paying the bill for such an exquisite function and seeing that it was being held in such a exclusive venue, she could not understand why anyone would go to such lengths and not even ask them to contribute a cent towards meeting the expenses. The answer was a simple, “you are a special group and close to the heart of Brother Joseph. Every effort made just to give each soul the opportunity to have a life transforming experience is worth more that the dollars spent.”
• Another remarked, he hasn’t come across anyone or any organization in the world that has arranged functions of this nature to cater for the youth. “We truly should be grateful” he said.
• Yet another was at pains to express his gratitude to the VGR staff and Bro Joseph for thinking of them as “special” for indeed occasions likes these makes them feel special. He went on the say that only the Lord can cause someone to express such a caring attitude.

It was a pleasure being a chaperone at the banquet and knowing it's all for God's Glory. It's what I love doing and used to, always been working in the church and with the young people while I was growing up. We appreciate you and the VGR team for sacrificing your time and energy for the youth across our country. Like my dad always says, "May God Bless you and put it on your account in Heaven." Love you.
•
Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The youth from EL Tabernacle would like to thank Young Foundations for the amazing time last night.
•
I would just like to say a big thank you to you and the other organizers for putting together such a successful and wonderful banquet. Your efforts were definitely not in vain. I really enjoyed myself and felt so blessed to be among other young believers. The message was also inspiring and has challenged me to take a step towards being a prisoner to the Word. May God continue to bless you in the work you do. Once again, thank you.
•
I'm still so excited even though the function is over. I was truly blessed. May God richly bless you and anyone else who had a hand in the preparations thereof. From the food, the singing, as well as the spiritual Food that was prepared. Pray you all have a safe trip back home.

Everything was super nice, I love the youth. God bless you my family.
•
It's so nice to be around people whom share the same interests as we do. Just remember to pray one for another, as Bro. Gordon said, it is difficult for us now because the devil has so much to offer, but those things are not eternal, but GOD'S LOVE IS ETERNAL. WE NEED TO BE PRISONERS OF GOD. I hope you all have a blessed day. God Bless you all
