The Handwriting On The Wall

January 30, 1958
And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN. Daniel 5: 25

All the way back in the beginning of Genesis, the great city of Babylon was built by the wicked Nimrod. It was once called "The Gates of Paradise," but later named Babylon, meaning confusion, when Nimrod tried to unite the whole nation under one dominion.

On down to the middle of the Bible in the days of Daniel, the great city was still plagued with wickedness. Its towering walls and mammoth size housed the evil men of that day. They had conquered the known world, and all cities paid them tribute. They were under the leadership of their popular King Belshazzar.

Behind the safety of their 80 foot falls, the king called for a time of celebration. They thought they would have a real rock-and-roll party. But as Brother Branham said, they failed to see that God looks down from the heavens, and He knows sin, and He hates sin, and He judges sin. God was watching their every move.

Right in the middle of their big party came a Light flickering against the palace wall. There was a man's hand came from Heaven and begin to write on the wall. And this is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.

Learn what these words mean as you listen to this soul-stirring message, where Brother Branham brings out an amazing parallel of the Babylon of today.
