Philippines Missionary Trip - Sponsorship Project Thursday, January 13, 2011

From the massive, bustling capital city of Manila, the journey will begin to trek across the diverse regions of the Philippines. This country of more than 7000 islands and 37 volcanoes, rest partially on the edge of the second deepest ocean trench in the world (over 30 miles deep.) It sits astride a fierce typhoon belt; is struck by multiple cyclone storms every year; faces a torrential monsoon season; and is vulnerable to destructive landslides, erupting volcanoes, earthquakes, and tsunamis.

The Philippines is a beautiful country, but it has its challenges. Even though it is only slightly larger than the state of Arizona, the Philippines has a huge population with nearly 100,000,000 people. This makes it the 12th largest country in the world. Most of these people dwell in the big cities of the northern regions, but it's the many islands and rugged terrain that must be traveled that often makes it very difficult to reach a portion of the Filipino Bride of Christ.

From churches scattered abroad, to believers in tiny fishing villages along the coast, to the single Message believing family deep in the mountain jungles, Brother Jeremiah (our loyal VGR representative and office manager for the Philippines) will be making the journey to supply these believers with the Messages of God’s prophet. There is a new library of 11 MP3 CDs and tracts in the Cebuano language that he and his small team will be distributing, along with English material, to the 40-50 Cebuano speaking churches. These newly translated MP3 sermons have never before been heard by the isolated Filipino believers, but soon they will hear more of the Voice of God to this generation.

This new Missionary Sponsorship Project will take Brother Jeremiah on a 4,000 kilometer trip (~2,500 miles), by van, bike, boat, and boots, spanning almost the entire country of the Philippines. But distance and adversity hold no bounds to God's work. You will be sending a missionary to supply fresh Manna from Heaven into areas that are almost unreachable by any type of transportation. Not even the national postal service will attempt to travel to some of these isolated regions.

We are very excited to send Brother Jeremiah and his dedicated team on this special missionary journey, and we hope it excites you to have the opportunity to be a part of this end-time work.

And you know, when... I believe that every Christian is obligated to be a missionary. I believe every Christian is obligated. Now, not so much as you have to go over in the old countries and preach or something. But if you can't go, you can help send somebody else. You see? See? What you do to send somebody else... 54-0307A The End Time

Here are a few words from Brother Jeremiah that show how his fearless efforts have played a huge role in introducing the Message to a portion of the 22,000 Filipino believers, with over 600 Message churches.

While we prioritize the Bride of the Lord Jesus Christ in the distribution of the Message, we are also aware of what Bro. Branham said that this same Message, the Voice of God, has to catch up with every person because it is for every mortal to hear (The Spoken Word Is The Original Seed 62-0318) and in his Message, The End Time 54-0307A, the prophet said "It's not fair that one person hear the Gospel twice, when somebody hasn't heard it once. See? Everybody should hear the Gospel at least once."

It is on these very words of Brother Branham that our confidence is anchored upon in knowing that we are doing the Lord's will in distributing and sharing the Message to every Filipino possible. We constantly pray for and seize every opportunity that the Lord opens to us in making the Message available to those Filipinos who have not come to know about the prophet for our age and the Message that he brings. In the reports of the coming trip, you will see various forms of these opportunities and the small humble steps that we have taken thus far in reaching out to even just a portion of the near one-hundred million Filipinos who would be in no way be able to hear this Gospel.
