Faithful To God Friday, February 18, 2011

We may not live in the dark ages where saints of God were tormented and killed for the cause of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we are still persecuted and our faith tested in this cold, dead world. This young sister stood the test when she was called out at a university she attends in Africa. She was faithful not to compromise on the Word of God.

Shalom to the perfect Bride of Christ.

I have a testimony I would like to share with you so that it can strengthen you and help you have a position in the Word.

I’m a student in college in a Catholic school, and every Monday, a class passes by to sing the anthem and do prayer.

Monday, November 8, 2010. It was our class who was to sing and pray. So my friends decided it would be me to lead in prayer according to my behavior in class.

After singing the national anthem, when I was offered the microphone to pray, I said: "Let us go in the presence of the Lord" and I started praying, the general superintendent stopped me by telling me that I had to make the sign of the cross before starting the prayer. I did not do it, I kept silent. All students in the school, teachers and leaders were looking at me and were threatening me with their looks. Then I remembered the sermon on Sunday which said that we must be faithful to God, and I was thinking of the Gospel in the book of Daniel.

The king who signed the decree saying that those who do not bow down and worship the statue will be cast into the fiery furnace, Daniel had made firm commitments to the Lord and remained faithful to that.

Daniel's 3 friends, who did not bow, were thrown into the fire but the Lord intervened. So I said in my heart that I can't compromise with your Word Lord, nowhere in the Bible is it written that we should make the sign of the cross and so I would not do it.

Then the supervisor insisted that I do the sign of the cross and he scolded me in front of everyone, but I didn't say a word. Usually I am very sensitive to tears, but that day, despite all the reprimands in public, I had love in my heart for the supervisor asking the Lord to forgive him, at that time a force seized me and strengthened me and then I knew the Lord was with me. Finally, I was sent back to my place on the ranks and another person was chosen to lead the prayer.

Dear brothers and sisters, take a stand for the Word, this Message. Always look before acting if you're in the perfect will of God and He will care for you, He will honor you. The Christian life is a life of struggle and persecution, but it is in trials that our faith increases and that God can trust us.

Pray that the Lord gives me strength and gives me weapons to fight the enemy at any time.

May the Lord bless you.
