Thanksgiving 2010 - Freedom
Monday, November 22, 2010
"If it's worth something, it's worth dying for."
It was religious persecution that our forefathers fled from. It landed them on Plymouth Rock where this great nation of ours was founded on freedom of religion. As Brother Branham said, "And according to the Bible, of Revelations the 13th chapter, God had promised them an oasis and a place, for the woman was carried into the wilderness where she was fed for a time, time, and a dividing of time. God had made the promise to America, or to the church (to the woman) to come into this country."
America, upon the basis of our forefathers who came here for such a purpose, was founded and molded by great men of renowned character; men of God. Men such as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Stonewall Jackson, and other gallant patriots who fought and many died for this one cause of worth: freedom. Freedom to worship their God in the manner which they felt morally and principally challenged to do.
God honored His Word and those who stood behind It in faith and prayer, and He preserved this land for His people. Millions have shed their blood to protect this God-given freedom He gave us. Because of this, we are able to freely worship our Lord and Saviour today. We can go to church and hear the Word of God without the worry of persecution from the government. We can sit in the freedom of our homes, or nearly anywhere we wish, and read our Bibles or listen to a tape. But one day this will change.
America has forsaken their heritage of God. There are no more morals or real democracy in our nation as a whole. Brother Branham told us how the last flower of real democracy faded and died in our courts. Our Constitution, once the strength of our freedom, has been broken time and again and made of none effect. The Confederation of Churches is ever growing and lurking in the background. We've learned from the Message that there will come a day that if we don't join this Confederation, we’ll be shut out, and the church doors will be closed. It was the finest churches, the religious people of that day, that put Jesus, Paul, and the other disciples in chains. Brother Branham said if it wasn't for the Constitution of the United States, they'd do the same thing today. "That's right. Just wait till she's--till she's broke a little more."
This November, and always, let us give thanks to God for the ability to freely worship Him in the manner He leads us. We want to thank Him for the glorious Message He has given us, and for the Holy Spirit in our lives. More than anything, we want to thank our Heavenly Father for sending His Only Begotten Son to pay the cost of our sin and shed His blood on Calvary. Though it was the greatest ransom that could ever be paid, it gave us our Eternal freedom.
Sometimes it means a lot. Sometimes it costs you something. Anything that doesn't cost you something, isn't worth having. All great things has to be paid for. The reason we're worshiping today, freedom of religion in this Thanksgiving Day, this cost the blood of a many American, millions of them. It's worth something. And if it's worth something, it's worth dying for. And this religion that we have, this pentecostal, Holy Spirit that's fell on us, bring back to us a resurrected Jesus Christ alive after nineteen hundred years, is worth all of our time, and our efforts, and everything that we do; it's worth all to us.

We pray the little narration clip at the top of the page is a blessing and a reminder of the freedom we have to be thankful for.
