What Hearest Thou Elijah

April 12, 1959

It wasn't the rushing wind that rent the rocks from the mountain that caught Elijah's attention. It wasn't the shaking of the earthquake. Neither was it the consuming fire or flash of lightning before the entrance of the cave. Elijah just sat still and listened. Then a still small Voice spoke, and Elijah answered.

"It isn't always the noisy things that's great things," Brother Branham said. "The sun can draw a million gallons of water with less noise than we can pump a glass full out of a pump. That's right. The--the heavens can sprinkle dew all over the earth with less noise than you can sprinkle your front lawn. Certainly. Did you ever hear the planets turning? Great things are quiet things."

Think how quietly the Holy Spirit comes into our presence when we worship Him after hearing His Word, yet how great It is. You've never heard the daybreak, yet it scatters all darkness away. There are so many great things of God that take place, yet they go unnoticed, because they are quiet things. If we would only sit still and listen, as Elijah did, to the voice of Him that speaks behind these things, Brother Branham said there would be fellowship amongst all churches, and we'd have brotherly love. "It's that still small Voice of God that operates the power of God, that makes things real and brings Life to the church."
