He Leadeth Me Beside The Still Waters Tuesday, October 19, 2010

On the afternoon of October 8th, the local youth set their eyes for the first time on the beautiful camp at Still Waters Lake. For months upon months now, much time and labor had been expended to get to this point. It was the moment to witness the effect that 'Still Waters' would have on the youth of Jeffersonville, and eventually, the youth of the world. From the gorgeous fall scenery to the many activities available, there was much to see and look forward to for our new guests.

The expressions of awe and excitement were exploding from every person as they gazed over “their” campground. From the very beginning, there was a sweet Spirit that seemed to engulf the camp. It was so serene, and the cares and thoughts of the world quickly evaporated from the minds of the youth. There were no cell phones, no televisions or computers, no noise or vulgar sights from the busy cities; it was simply God in His creation.

The time allotted was hardly enough to fit in all that was planned. Many youth jumped from activity to activity as they explored the new grounds, while others simply enjoyed relaxing and meditating along the still waters. Our main focus was on the Lord Jesus, and to see each and every camper go home a better Christian than they were when they arrived. Each morning started with, and every evening ended in, devotions. After a day full of activities on Saturday, the youth were asked to stop a little early to dedicate an hour of their day to the Lord - reading their Bibles and praying. They each found their own special spot to sit, and soon the lake shore was dotted with young believers. Not a sound could be heard outside of the rustling of wind in the leaves and singing of birds. Although the youth loved the many activities during the day, it was by far the most well-spent and cherished hour of the day.

The services were tremendous and our Saturday evening guest speaker, Brother Vitaliy Tsekhistrenko from Ukraine, had a stirring impact on many youth. On Sunday morning Brother Branham spoke “A Prisoner” directly to the hearts of those at the service. It was easy for us to see that the countless hours worked and sacrifices made to make this retreat possible, had already paid off just from the lives changed and strengthened during this two-day camp. But we believe there's so much more that the Lord has in store for His young Bride around the world, and we're greatly anticipating sharing it with you.
