Day Two In Prison Camp Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Day two in Prison Camp started off with a little more action than day one. Team oriented activities would be the entertainment for the day, with a special presentation and more singing for the evening.

The wake-up call was early on Friday morning. By 6a.m., they were pounding on the doors: "Breakfast in one hour!" The excitement overcame my tiredness from the previous days travels to get to the camp. By 8:00 we had finished eating, and all 150 of us were piling into the buses. We went on a trip through the countryside of Ukraine, and onto an outdoor facility for a day of real excitement and physical activities. Brother Vitaliy Tsekhistrenko of Ukraine had coordinated a special day of events for the young people, and I couldn't wait to see what it was. They divided the youth into seven teams, which were split into two competing teams. Fourteen team-oriented activities were set up throughout the facility that each group had to complete. From game to game, we would see who could best work together to complete each task first. It was a fun-filled day that really allowed us to bond and fellowship with one another while having a great time.

Friday evening was a little change of pace. We cleaned up from the long day outside, and headed to the gathering hall. Young Foundations had a special presentation scheduled to go along with the theme of the camp... Prisoner for Christ. While waiting in our seats for the casual service to begin, I was in quiet anticipation to see who our special speaker would be, and what he would be presenting to us. A small group of young people walked to the front with their instruments. There were two sisters - one began softly playing the piano, while the other positioned her violin and gently drew her bow across the strings. As one brother led with the guitar, two younger brothers harmonized with their flutes, and another began playing the accordion. It started out the evening by inviting a sweet spirit into the room. Brother Jeremy Evans then announced that a special brother from Norway had prepared a slideshow for us to see. He was invited to the platform, where he introduced himself to us young people: "My name is Brother David Forsberg, and I am a prisoner for Christ." He then proceeded to explain to us the great work God has allowed them to do in their spiritually-lacking country.

Nearly every weekend of the month, Brother David, his wife, and a small group of believers travel from city to city and rent theater rooms to display the Message of Brother William Marrion Branham (as seen on the VGR website A Special Time In Norway and Tapeboy In Norway.) "How do they do this?" I wondered. They walk the streets and beckon the people to come and see. Then he plays the videos of Deep Calleth To The Deep and/or Twentieth Century Prophet. Brother David also told how they place a table loaded down with Message material for people to look at after each presentation. "Every time," Brother David said, "the table is wiped clean." Many souls have been touched and led to Christ through their gallant efforts. On one occasion, even the lady playing The Deep Calleth To The Deep video for them was so touched that she gave her heart to the Lord. He explained how these testimonies of God's grace arise every time the films are showed. Peoples lives are changed when they see and hear God's prophet in action.

It was a great encouragement to us all, and you could feel the presence of the Lord as our brother presented God's prophet before us, just as he does before the public of Norway. Even the largest Pentecostal newspaper of Norway, along with many smaller papers, have published their work. I was inspired. "I want to do that for my country," I thought. They are true prisoners for the Lord Jesus Christ!

By this time, the night had cooled and we gathered by the water's edge once again. We were all beginning to loosen up a little by now, and were looking forward to another night of singing and fellowship around the campfire. From the outside, it must have sounded like voices of angels echoing off the water, as the youth joined in one accord and poured out their hearts in song and praise. Truly, it was another day that was blessed of the Lord.
