Adoption #2

May 18, 1960

Once again, we've pulled some quotes concerning 'adoption' from different messages to go along with the second sermon in this Adoption series, "Manifested Sons Of God." Adoption was a frequent subject Brother Branham talked about, and there are many wonderful quotes that bring out more on the placing of God's children. We pray this series will continue to be a blessing that will draw you closer to our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. Romans 8:19
  • What is the manifestation? Making known. The whole world. The Mohammedans over yonder, they're looking for it. All around, everywhere, they're looking for it. "Where is these people?" Adoption 2 60-0518
  • But now to "place," how are you? You're first born into the Kingdom by the Holy Ghost. How many knows that? All right. The next, you are predestinated unto the what? Adoption. What is that? You are predestinated unto the placing. Adoption 2 60-0518
  • They're borned a child, but, when--they're a son right then. But then they'll never be no more than just a child, just an ordinary son, until they mature and show what they are. Then he calls him out then. Adoption 2 60-0518
  • We today claim to be, by grace, and by the mercy and the adoption by Christ, that we become the Seed of Abraham, and we can't trust God twenty-four hours. But the real Seed of Abraham takes a hold of God's Word and nothing is going to move him from it. Zacchaeus The Businessman 63-0121
  • Now, he's still a child. But if the child was reckless, and never paid any attention, and wasn't so interested in the Father's work, that child never become adopted to that family. But if he was a correct child, a good child, and loved the work of his father, and was interested, and tried to do all he could to progress his father's work, then the tutor brought that word to the father, and there was what's called the placing of the son or as Paul gives it in--over in Galatians, "the adoption." That we was predestinated into the adoption of children by Jesus Christ, the adoption. A Hidden Life 55-1006A
  • God, Jehovah, dwelt in His Son, without measure. We are sons by adoption, Jesus had the Spirit without measure, we get it by measure. Earnestly Contending For The Faith That Was Once Delivered Unto The Saints 56-0419
  • We are waiting for the fulness of adoption. This will take place when? At the first resurrection. That's when our bodies will be changed from these vile creatures that we are and we'll have a body like His Own glorious body, "For we shall see Him as He is, and we will be like Him." Revelation Chapter Five 1 61-0611
  • ...if you'll stand after you receive the Holy Ghost, and make yourself a Christian, and act like a Christian should. If you'll put your face in God's Word, and your eyes towards heaven, and let your pants' legs be bagged at the knees, be reverent before God, there'll be someday that God will take you over to a side one, where--and give to you a power and a gift that the whole world will know He's been with you. That's placing a son to his position. Hallelujah. Hear Ye Him 58-0209A
  • God's waiting on me and you. The church is waiting on me and you: adoption time, when God can pour into us His Fullness, His power, His Resurrection, that when the church and Christ become so close together till Christ becomes visible among us, and raises the dead, and we go into the rapture. What Was The Holy Ghost Given For 59-1217
  • For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Romans 8:22-23
