The School Bus Driver
Friday, May 28, 2010
According to studies, every year school buses carry some 24 million students and collectively travel more than 4 billion miles. Considering how many kids the buses carry and the distance they cover, accidents and deaths on the road are extremely rare, but they do happen. School buses have a rate of 0.2 deaths per 100 million miles traveled. The rate of deaths in automobiles is eight times higher.
This sister who was a school bus driver, was a little discouraged after a small, unthreatening accident. It wasn't the fact that she added to the statistics of school bus accidents, but simply because she didn't understand why God would let it happen. Following this incident, the good Lord proved to her that His angels were indeed watching over her all along.
God Bless to all my brothers and sisters - and a very special thank-you to all of you that work so hard to send this precious message.
I have a small testimony -
I drive a school bus for the county in which I live. Last year I had a little accident with another car. The damage was small, but it really shook me up. I felt a little dejected as just before I left, I had prayed for God to keep me and my children safe. It really puzzled me, and the devil really worked me over. How could this happen? I pushed it away - knowing God always knows best.
Just a few weeks back, I left my house in a hurry for my route. My daughter was sick and I was late. I prayed, and headed out into really, really dense fog. It was like driving in a cloud. I needed to make a left turn onto a sometimes busy road. I opened my door, and could see nothing. I decided to turn - which in looking back was really crazy. Just as I barely cleared into the other lane, a truck came racing through. He didn't see me - until he saw the back end of my bus just hardly clear him.
I was dazed - it happened so fast - yet so slow.
As I continued down the road - I said " Thank-you God for you angels!" Amazing thing was the following Sunday my pastor preached about God's angels. To me it was a lesson - God had always kept me 'SAFE.' He didn't spare my pride in the previous incident. And yet God was so good to me and I never had a claim or even heard from the person in which I hit. Even though we tried tracking them down.
God has always kept me safe and His Answer is Perfect Everytime! Someone would have died on that foggy road that morning, but His angels were watching over me! Thank-you Jesus!
God Bless,
Sister in Christ
