The Feast Of The Trumpets
July 19, 1964
Only on three occasions since the establishment of Israel as a recognized state, have they been paid a visit by the 'Vicar' of Rome. January, 1964 was the first time for a papal visit to Jerusalem, the great headquarters of all religion. Pope Paul VI left the Vatican in Rome, the church's greatest enemy of all times, to set historical precedent and pay tribute to the Holy Lands.
The pope's visit to Jerusalem was a whirlwind, lasting only eleven hours in full, as reported by the media. During this short trip, he paid respects to many holy sites, met with the president of Israel, and performed other political/religious functions. It was said that his primary goal was largely to promote unity within the Christian religion.
There was a strange occurrence that also took place on the natural side. While the pope was in Israel on this noted day in history, there was a total blackout of the moon. As Brother Branham mentions on this tape, "In the absence of the sun, the moon reflects the light to the earth, which is a type of the church. And when the pope leaves, the ancient enemy of the church, and comes over to the Jerusalem, which is the seat of the church; which, the new Jerusalem and the old Jerusalem; we notice, before it did it, there was a total blackout of the moon."
This strange event was posted across the nation in the papers, and a copy of it was placed on the bulletin board of the Branham Tabernacle.

It was a phenomenon how the moon drew in the skies exactly what the Holy Spirit had Brother Branham draw two years prior. We've placed a copy of this newspaper article for you to review.
Since that time, there have been only two other papal visits to Jerusalem, one in 2000 by Pope John Paul II, and just last year by Pope Benedict. It's only a matter of time before the Words of God's prophet concerning Israel, Rome, and the confederation of churches comes to a head.
