What Was The Holy Ghost Given For?
December 17, 1959
If you have the spirit of a Roman, then you are from Rome. If you have a Grecian spirit, then you are from Greece. Those who are of England, have an English spirit. And if you are from America, then you have the spirit of an American. But if you've got the Spirit of Christ in you, then you are from above! You're a stranger to this world.
Just like a man from a foreign land would be dazzled and clueless at the ways of Americans, so would an American in a foreign land. You take on the spirit and nature of the country you come from. That's what makes us as Christians so different from this world. We are citizens of a different Kingdom; the Kingdom of God. When the Holy Ghost makes us citizens of this Kingdom, our nature proves where we are from.
Then if you are a citizen of the Kingdom of God, how does It make you act? Like God does in His Kingdom. Now, what does God do in His Kingdom? It's holiness, righteousness, purity of thought, purity of mind, power, and love, going to the lost, healing the sick, performing miracles, doing great things. Then to the world you look crazy; they say,"Them guys are off at their head." See? But you are a citizen of the Kingdom.
Brother Branham combed through the Bible in last week's first Revival Month message to prove to us what the Holy Ghost is. It is a Seal, a Covenant, and a Sign. It is the Spirit of Christ living in you. Now he reveals what God's purpose was in sending the Holy Spirit: that God Himself might dwell in you, working through you to finish His plan of redemption "...making you a co-worker with Him, giving you a place, giving you a part for your fallen lost brother and sister, giving you His Spirit and His love to go hunt the lost as He did in the garden of Eden."
