Caught Speeding Friday, March 26, 2010

Although we in no way endorse speeding, we thought this unique story would be a good reminder that you can let your light shine anywhere, no matter what the situation.

A young brother was caught speeding. So when the police officer pulled him over, he told him "I am very sorry, I was distracted."

When the officer asked him what distracted him, he said, "Umm, I was singing." The officer was surprised, so he asked what he was singing. The young brother replied, "Victory In Jesus!" The officer did not believe him, and he asked him to sing it again. So he did, all the way through... The young brother has a great voice and is Italian, and he sang it like opera.

The officer was shocked and told him to be safe, and he never gave him a ticket.

The lesson from this incident is not that he got away without getting a ticket, because according to the law he deserved one for speeding, or not even that the young man had a nice voice. Firstly he was honest, as we should always be, and secondly, it could have been any worldly song the boy sang, but instead he was able to testify of the victory he has in Jesus. You never know, it may have planted a seed that will echo through Eternity.
