Royal Banquet

The Spoken Word Church of Hot Springs, Arkansas does a lot of activities and events to keep their young people together and focused on the Lord. We have posted a slideshow and report of their most recent event this past October.
On October 10th, 2009, we hosted a Royalty Banquet for unmarried believers ages 13-30. Present
were young believers from Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas, Texas, and
Louisiana. The theme, developed by associate pastor Brother Larry Hatten,
was to show the young people that they are special and that they are
born different from the world. He wanted the young people to know how
wonderful a gift has been given unto them, but with that gift comes a
great responsibility to conduct themselves as a son or daughter of THE KING.
As the young princes and princesses arrived, they were ushered in with a
great royal applause. They entered a room decorated royally. There was a
plaque that admitted it's not easy being a Princess but to never give up
trying. The Armour of God was on display to remind the youth that they
are in the greatest battle ever fought. Brother Hatten spoke to the
youth and told them that they were not just there to be entertained, but
for their lives to be changed, and that they would develop friendships
and fellowship that would strengthen their Christian walk.
As they sat down, the activities began with a quiz about kings and
queens of the Bible. They also received scriptures upon arriving that
they had to match with another of the royal family present. They were
given Young Foundations pens as well as bookmarks with quotes or
Scriptures on them. After the fun activities were completed, the royal
feast began. Course after delicious course was served. It was definitely
a feast fit for a king!
Brother Isreal Powe of Arizona then spoke to the young people about being a prisoner to Christ.
Truly, it was a wonderful night where many young people were shown how
special they are. We believe they were encouraged and strengthened by
this evening of fellowship with one another around the Word of God.
