Driving Home Monday, November 02, 2009

This story, and the picture at the end of the testimony, shows that this brother's Guardian Angel was watching out for him on the night of a bad car accident.

Dear brothers and sisters,

On the seventeenth, I was driving home from Tucson to Sierra Vista. I had just went to church and was on the interstate I-10 headed home. I looked down and opened my phone to make a call. When I looked up, I hit something extremely hard. I had no idea what I hit, but I was going 80 mph with a speed limit of 75. All I thought about was keeping the car from rolling and managed to keep it under control.

As soon as I was stopped, I realized my airbags had deployed and was surprised that I hadn't felt a thing. I climbed out and was instantly worried that I had killed someone. I saw a small pickup in the median between the outgoing and incoming freeway traffic. It was approximately fifty yards from were I was.

The paramedics checked out the driver and found that he had minor whiplash, very much to my surprise. The police officer informed me that I hadn't hit the truck, but that he had been towing another small truck and I had rear-ended it, which rear-ended the driver.

The truck I hit was nowhere in sight, so I asked the cop where it was. He pointed his flashlight far down the freeway and I could hardly see a reflection in the distance. It had crossed both lanes of oncoming traffic and ended up in the bar ditch some 200+ yards away. The estimated speed of the driver was 40 mph when I hit him.

I just want to thank the Lord for his mercy and keeping me safe without a scratch or pain of any kind. The only damage I had was a busted lip.
