Token
September 01, 1963
It was once in the blood of bulls and goats that the sins of man were covered. But these tokens held no lasting clutch, nor did they wipe away the soiled sheet of sin. They simply covered it up for a time. Every year, year after year, the priest had to make the unremitting sacrifices to cleanse the people of their wrongs toward God. Then there came a perfect One! No more was it in the chemistry of a soulless creature, but the Life from the Blood of an infinite God.
The chemistry had no Life in it, itself, and therefore it could not move. But when the Life come into the chemistry of the blood, It formed a cell. It formed Its Own cell, then cell after cell, then it become a Man. And that Man was God, Emmanuel, in flesh. But when that Life returned back, the chemistry went to it, but the Token is the Holy Ghost upon the Church, that they see Christ.
The message, “Token” was preached on the following Sunday after “Perfect Faith” in the Branham Tabernacle. It’s a powerful sermon that only God’s prophet alone could bring to a needy people as we are. Truly the Scriptures are brought to Life as God voices the revelation of Jesus Christ through His messenger. Brother Branham said concerning this message: "This morning, the message this morning was, to me, the highlights Message of my entire ministry; this morning, see, a highlight Message of my entire ministry. Someday I'll tell you how it come about. And I know that everything has worked for months and months and months, up to that one Message, moving up to come to that place. That was the capping-off time of it, you see." 63-0901E
The testimony below came from a man who Brother Branham dedicated during this 1963 service in Jeffersonville, IN.
From the time I was old enough to remember, there was always a tape playing in our home. That’s one thing that really stands out to me about my childhood, was hearing the Voice on those tapes. We didn’t have a Message church in Tifton, GA back then. Brother Branham was our local pastor. Even though he was still living and preaching the Gospel abroad, we weren’t always able to make it to the meetings, so we gathered and listened to that Voice.
Mom and dad used to make the 16 hour drive to Jeffersonville on a whim. It was mostly word of mouth that Brother Branham was going to be in town, so they didn’t always know for sure. Sometimes they would hear from Brother Billy, but they often took their chances either way, and packed me along for the ride. I was an only child and very young, but I have a good reminder of the first time I was in the presence of God’s prophet. It was during the message, “Token.” I was about two years old when I was carried up to the pulpit to be dedicated by Brother Branham to the Lord Jesus Christ. What an honor and wonderful message that was. Little did I know at such an early age, and for 17 years to follow, that the Words spoken on that tape would become reality when the Token was made manifest in my life and God led me to a life of service for His Bride.
Like many young people, Brother Joel strayed from the Word of the Lord. But his fight to lose his inheritance wouldn’t last for long. The Token had been applied, and God was sure to bring to pass the words that His messenger spoke in this 1963 message. "Grant, Lord, that this little boy will be Your servant, that the father and mother will be blessed, and have health and strength to raise it. And may it live a long, happy life, and be Your servant, as we commit it to You, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen."
Brother Joel ran from the presence of the Lord until he was nineteen years of age, when the prayers of his faithful mother were answered.
Mom used to tell me, “I don’t care how it happens, but one of these days you’ll come back. I don’t care if it’s on your back, in the hospital, or how it happens, but I know you’ll be back. I’ve applied the Token to your life, and it’s only a matter of time.” It used to scare me to death when she would say that, but I still shrugged it off. Then one day I couldn’t ignore it any more. I had listened to the Message all my life, but it wasn’t until I attended some special Labor Day meetings in Jeff in 1980 that I truly accepted the Message of the hour. God changed my heart, took every wrong from my life, and put a burden on my heart that to this day I still can’t explain, to do a service for Him.
That same year, October of 1980, Brother Joel Watson began a life of service for the Bride of Christ at the original Spoken Word in Jeffersonville, IN. Next year will mark 30 years of service that he has dedicated to the furthering of this end-time Message. Today at Voice Of God Recordings, he prepares and packages cassette tapes to be sent to nearly every race of people in all corners of the globe. We are thankful that God has preserved a perfect Word, and supplied a willing soul to help send It to His called out Bride.
