Romania Day 3
Saturday, August 29, 2009
Sunday morning marked a special climax to the Romania Youth Camp. The youth had gathered together at one final juncture to feast on “Spiritual Food in Due Season.” It was the same message that the youth of Ukraine were feasting on, and at the very same time. Though they were hundreds of miles apart, the same Holy Spirit that moved in Kiev, enriched the lives of God’s children in the countryside of Romania.
As always, God’s Word made Itself manifest in the hearts of His offspring, and there was a baptismal directly following the service. A line of young soldiers marched to a nearby stream to perform the ceremony. The waters were cold, with a slight current, but that wouldn't stop their thirsty hearts. Six went into the chilly waters and took on the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Then Brother Ron Lilly asked, “Is there anyone else to be baptized?” A young man was standing on the sidelines, and the Lord spoke to His heart. He answered the call and came splashing into the water at a near run. He was number seven!
This was the completion to a wonderful camp. It was bittersweet as the kids said their goodbyes and slowly left. God had truly been with them and created many lasting bonds. Though their time together seemed so short, the blessings and memories will last a lifetime for the youth of Romania.
