Ukraine Youth Camp Sunday, August 16, 2009

Friday marked the opening afternoon of Young Foundations first youth camp in Kiev, Ukraine. Registration was the first step to take place for the initial 91 excited young believers who arrived. From 1:00pm until 5:00pm, they registered for the camp, learned a little about Young Foundations, and joined their names with thousands of others who have signed up in our YF database over the years.

Shortly following the registration process, the YF crew made sure there was a nicely prepared supper for the youth to enjoy. They were blessed with encouraging words from Brother Paul Derkson and Brother Dave Cook from Canada, and also from Brother Matti Honkanen from Finland.

After they were given their welcome supper, they instantly headed toward the beach on the Dnieper River to finish off the evening with some fun and fellowship. The first thing they did was started singing praises to God, and then played some volleyball, ping-pong, and their famous European football (soccer). There was fellowship and laughter throughout the camp. Smiles were on every face. This was a blessing for the youth of Ukraine and Eastern Europe, so they really seemed to appreciate every detail that was carried out for their enjoyment and benefit.

Here is a short clip of a song that the youth sang Friday evening on the beach.

We have high expectations for what the Lord will do over the next few days, so please keep in prayer with us for a wonderful blessing to our young brothers and sisters at the camp.

We will continue to post updates on the Ukraine Camp in the days to come.
