The Power Of Decision

October 07, 1955

Consider how a single decision can have such a colossal impact and even change the entire course of your life or of history. They can and they do! Look at Eve. She made one bad choice and caused every heartache and death that has ever taken place since the Garden of Eden. Consider Noah. He made a single choice to obey God’s Message and built a boat without water to float on. Every human being on earth, other than his family, drowned in the great flood. Out of one man’s faith to hold to God’s promise for twenty-five years came the seed of Abraham that still roams the earth today. Of all the two-million children of Israel, everyone perished in the wilderness because they chose the path of unbelief, except for two. These two chose to follow God and were granted entrance into the Promised Land. Every piece of ground they stepped foot on was theirs for the taking. Brother Branham said that one of the sweetest words in the Bible was that of Christ’s and the decision He made when He said, “Father, I sanctify myself for their sakes.” His choice to do so provided a way so that we might be forgiven and have the opportunity of Eternal Life with Him. Brother Branham said He didn’t have to, but He chose to because He loved us and performed the Father’s will.

It’s plain to see that there is power in decision. These are examples that had astronomical affects, but they started from making a decision, something we all do everyday. Most all of us can look back and say, “If I would’ve only done this instead of that, then maybe things wouldn’t be the way they are right now.” Or, “I’m so thankful that the Lord allowed me to make the right choice in this situation.” Big or small, every decision we make has a result, but the one decision that will forever shape our future is the decision to accept Christ into our lives.

“If a man once anchors his heart against the heart of Calvary, all devils in hell will never shake him no more; he's there.”

Brother Branham speaks in this message about the power of decision on the children of Israel, and the way that our choices today play a powerful role in our future to come. This tape is only one of eight other messages that tie together to paint a beautiful picture in a 1955 series preached in Chicago, Illinois at the Lane Tech High School. The message to follow is “The Results of Decision,” which continues to supply us with more rich food to feast on.
