'Twas The Night After Revival Tuesday, July 07, 2009

This is an inspired poem we received from a young sister.

'Twas the night after revival and all through the land, Everyone yearned to see God's mighty hand. Prayers were offered both day and night, In hopes to witness God's great might. Bibles, once dusty, were read everyday, And Christians gathered together to pray. Temptations were conquered, the devil defeated, During church service no one could stay seated! Some were scornful and didn't believe, They just couldn't see what so many'd received. The devil worked overtime - tried to survive, He sure didn't want God's church to revive! He worked through family, colleagues, and friends, He tried to make sure the victory'd end. But everyone got together to pray, There was NO CHANCE that the devil could stay! Faith was renewed, the church grew stronger, Everyone wished that the preaching went longer! Some shouted, some jumped, some flipped over chairs! They made sure the devil knew Jesus was there. No more was healing a miraculous thing, Everyone's faith simply seemed to sprout wings. God worked wonders in everyone's hearts, He helped them withstand Satan's fiery darts. Complexes seemed to be things of the past, The devil had been defeated at last! The youth grew closer, their faith soared high, Everyone realized that Jesus passed by. God is still here with his people today, And we must continue to watch and to pray.
