Dear Young Foundations,

I have just recently read one of the blogs that Young Foundations posted about the Jesus checks. My testimony also involves the Jesus checks and the power of prayer. It also tells how the Lord, even if you don't think He is listening, hears your every request.

I'm so thankful for what the Lord does for me everyday.

A while back, I was diagnosed with upper thoracic scoliosis (scoliosis in the upper half of my back). My doctor noticed it and had me sent to a specialist. When I went to the specialist, she informed me that it was average, and she sent me to a physical therapist. With life's fast pace and my busy schedule of school, I never returned to the physical therapist or the specialist for over eight months.

Later, I went to my doctor for a cold and my mother requested that I get a follow-up x-ray of my back. The doctor's office misplaced my x-rays, and I didn't get the results back for six weeks. I finally got the x-ray results, and they informed me that I had indeed gotten worse. My back went from a 13 degree curvature to a 21 degree curvature; you are treated when it worsens to a 17 degree curve.

It was still awhile before I went to a spine surgeon, so my family and friends diligently prayed, and my mother wrote a check for the straightening of my back. So the day of my appointment finally arrived, and I was still nervous about what would be the outcome, despite the fact that people where praying around the clock.

The surgeon ordered follow-up x-rays, and he found that my back was evening itself out. Where my back had been 21 degrees, it lessened to 16 degrees, and where my back had been 13 degrees, it was also 16 degrees) The surgeon told me that I would not need surgery or even a brace, and to come back in a year.

God does so many things for us everyday. He cares for us and protects us everywhere we go, and I'm so thankful!
