12-21-08, A Day I Will Never Forget... Thursday, March 19, 2009

It is said that one in every 1000 children are diagnosed with "Sunken Chest Syndrome," a condition that models its name. Heart problems and breathing difficulty are sometimes side effects of this abnormality.

Hazardous health issues create stress and often hopeless situations for many people. But to a Christian, there is the hope of a promise that Christ made at Calvary. As it reads in Isaiah 53:5,

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

This young sister held on to the prayer of faith and was healed of the symptoms the devil tried to plague her with.

Dear Brother Joseph:

I came to the youth banquet in December, and my cousin brought me to you after the Sunday morning service to be prayed over for "Sunken Chest Syndrome," which is where my chest cavity grows inward.

I just came from Texas Children's Hospital today and couldn't wait to send you my report. I am so happy to report to you that the doctor there says that my heart is fine and that he does not hear a heart murmur, and that my heart is not enlarged like the other doctor saw. He says that he does not think it will ever cause me any problems.

I know the Lord has heard everyone's prayers for me and that the Lord has healed me. Thank you for your prayer that day. It will be a day I will never forget for the rest of my life. One of the brothers was able to get a picture of you praying for me that day, and I have it in a frame on my nightstand to remind me that God still answers prayer. Thanks again for you prayers, and I can't wait to see y'all at Easter.

God Bless You,

Sister Sydney
