Don't Forget The Main Thing Friday, December 19, 2008

It’s hard to believe that it’s Christmas time again. The lists never seem to end this joyful yet busy time of year. Everyone’s just finishing up school finals and anxious for the Christmas break. There’s shopping to do, friends to hang out with, snow sledding, Christmas parties, family get-togethers, and everything else in-between. Our normal routines of life get put on hold for these seemingly more important things. Little by little, our prayer life lessens and Christ gets pushed further down the list. It’s not even something we do intentionally, but it happens so subtly as life becomes more demanding.

The small amount of time we allot to God each 24 hour day is what gives us strength and courage to make it through to the next day. As time becomes scarcer, that allotted time with our Lord and Saviour is often the first thing to go. Before long, the binding block of our lives is hardly seen in the big picture. Things go wrong and you begin to search for the answer why. As you look back, you begin to see that Christ is nowhere to be found.

Don’t forget the main thing, Jesus Christ.

Young Foundations and Voice Of God Recordings would like to wish you all a wonderful and merry Christmas this year. God bless and be with you this holiday season.
