A Meal to Remember Wednesday, November 19, 2008

This past weekend, Young Foundations hosted its second annual "Giving Thanks" dinner for the local elderly and widowed believers. The guests were met outside by young men holding umbrellas who escorted them from their cars. From here on out, they would receive first class treatment. While the one hundred plus local saints found the way to their seats, the kitchen buzzed with last minute preparations.

Brother Joseph welcomed everyone on behalf of Young Foundations before turning the microphone over to the event's MC's. The two young men got right to it. They dismissed each table to the buffet line and made sure that everyone felt welcomed. A swarm of young ladies dressed in classy black outfits and aprons made sure that everyone's drinks were kept full and that no details were overlooked.

As the afternoon went on, a whole lot of very full elderly saints seemed grateful and satisfied. For the after-dinner entertainment, there was a drama about a family in desperate need. YF actors played their parts perfectly and our guests seemed to love it.

After dessert and coffee, our honored guests spent a little more time fellowshipping, and then headed home full and happy. Everything was a success! The YF kids did it again.

We encourage you to do something similar for your local saints. It's a great way to bring both the young and old together for a time of fun and fellowship.
