Anytime we post anything that is out of our ordinary, we expect to get an influx of feedback. This years Halloween video was certainly no exception. The overwhelming majority of the comments were from people who loved the video, but there were a few that were concerned. We believe that both views were written in Christian love and we truly appreciate any feedback that you might have. We have decided to explain some of the thoughts that went into making the video, and share a few of the comments left by those who viewed it.

Last year we gave a detailed description of the origins of Halloween along with a text banner that asked the question: is this tradition really "innocent fun?" This year we felt led to show the turmoil that a young Christian faces when presented with pressure from his peers regarding Halloween. The event of Halloween was a convenient subject, but it could have been about many things. From going to see the latest Hollywood feature to "just trying it out once" our young adults face more pressure now than ever before. Our intention was to show the youth that others face the same pressures. They are not alone.

We put up the parental discretion page to prevent young kids from viewing the video without their parents approval. Although we believe the everyday experience of this world exposes young believers to much worse than this video, we do not want to jeopardize the trust that parents put in us as a safe site. We took a "better safe than sorry" approach.

"I haven't celebrated Halloween since i came into The Message. I don't plan to either! God Bless and thank you for steering us kids in the right direction."

"I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the wonderful video regarding Halloween. It really laid the axe to the root of the tree. I hope and pray that all Believers take the same stand! Not only does the video make you understand that God is not in Halloween but I think it is a great time of reflection for all of us to take a look at other things in our life and to be able to ask ourselves "is God in is?" Thank you all for all that you do and may Gold bless you richly for what you are doing for the Bride of Christ."

"Parental discretion? On YF site? I'm honestly sorry to disapprove of this banner clip and sorry to see it on a site I have for my children to view. What would the Message of Mal:4 think of such? I do appreciate YF and all it does for our young believers but must provide criticism in Christian love. God Bless you each one, we pray every day for you that God will guide. Sent in Love."
