Coming Home

While waiting at the gate at the airport in Geneva Switzerland the 20 Americans started singing the songs that they had learned at the camp. Including "I am on the Lord's side." And "Hakuna Waikaita sa Yesu" They attracted the attention of everyone around them, but no one said a word as they sang song after song. Just as it was time to board the plane, two believers, a mother and daughter, came walking up. Although we did not know them, and they did not know us, they had followed the sound of the hymns and found our group. They quickly exchanged email addresses and off we flew.
From Geneva we flew to Amsterdam, Netherlands and they had to hold the plane for us as our plane arrived late. From Amsterdam we flew for 9 hours to Detroit, Michigan. We were still bubbling over from the meetings and the youth quietly sang on the plane while crossing the Atlantic. Instead of telling us to be quiet, one stewardess simply called one of the girls "her little entertainer."
In Detroit, we were able to grab a quick bite to eat and then we had to say goodbye to two very special new friends that would be flying from Detroit to their homes; one in New Mexico, and one in Florida.
Finally, the time came to board the flight to Louisville, Kentucky where we would see our families once again.
Arriving at the airport we found the shuttle waiting for us, and so we all got one last ride together before we ended up at the VGR parking lot where our families were waiting for us.
As we unloaded from the bus, we sang the songs one more time, before we all went our separate ways.
We will never forget this camp, and are trusting in the Lord that the revival fires that He ignited in our hearts will never burn out. May God bless you.
