Saturday September 13th

The weather service reported a 100% chance of rain, and sure enough, the rain started pouring down just after 7:00 AM. Clouds, thunder, and rain surrounded the resort as far as we could see, except for one tiny spot to the west where the sun was peeking through. We knew that the plans for today included volleyball, basketball, hillbilly golf, and soccer...all outside. Were we worried? No way! We knew who was in charge, and He has moved storms away before. Why not now? We simply put it into His hands and went to breakfast to enjoy the buffet of delicious Italian food. After we finished breakfast and walked outside, that spot of sun in the clouds was directly over the top of us. And it stayed right there! Let the games begin!

Just before noon that hole in the clouds started shrinking, so we decided to go to lunch. It started pouring again right as we arrived at the dining room. After lunch was over, we went back to our rooms to change clothes. The Lord blessed us with this midday storm to allow us a time of fellowship and testimonies. We had the opportunity to meet new friends and hear testimonies of how the Lord is working among His youth in all parts of the world.

The time for the banquet soon arrived. The ladies were in their beautiful dresses and the young men in their suits and sport coats. It was an honor to see the Christian appearance of our fellow soldiers in Christ representing churches from Europe, Africa, and the United States.

The banquet food was served in course after course until we were totally stuffed, and still the courses kept coming! Finally it was time for the testimonies to begin. Brother Gordon Tutani led us in a few songs of praise before Brother Jeremy Evans gave his testimony and encouraged all to be ready for the next morning when a very special person would be speaking. Everyone was under great anticipation, as they believed that Sunday morning would the climax of the camp.
