Come, Follow Me
June 01, 1963
High School graduation is a big day that marks a turning point in most of our lives. After we finish school, we are suddenly forced to become more responsible and make decisions we never had to make before. We have to choose what path of life we will travel and who we will follow down that path. Much of our decision is based upon the influence and leadership of those closest in our lives, but that leadership needs to ultimately come from the Holy Ghost.
For Sister Marilyn Martens, it wasn’t a hard decision. She was raised in a godly family and followed God's vindicated prophet and Word.
Sister Marilyn was soon to graduate on the fifth of June, 1963, and she was blessed with the special gift of having Brother Branham come to their home for her graduation party. Below is a letter we received from Sister Marilyn concerning the event:
I considered it a great honor to have Brother Branham come to my graduation party, where he spoke to us with the message "COME, FOLLOW ME."
The history that led to COME, FOLLOW ME began when my parents moved from Canada. As a family, we were very privileged to be able to spend time with Brother Branham. We traveled across the country attending the meetings from 1959 thru 1965.
Whenever there was a special occasion and Mom and Dad wanted to know what we would like to do to celebrate, we always said to have lunch with Brother Branham. Mom knew that the best gift she could give me for graduation was to be with Brother Branham. I was blessed to receive of Brother Branham’s time as he spoke the message, “COME, FOLLOW ME.”

We all sat in the living room-kitchen area of the small house on La Pasadita. The younger kids, Brother Joseph, Sarah, John, and Lois were playing in the backyard. If you listen closely to the tape, you can hear them in the background.
Mom had asked Brother Terry Sothmann to record whatever Brother Branham was to tell us.
Brother Branham was very skillful at making everyone relaxed. He was a very humble man and always made everyone feel confident and secure. The atmosphere around Brother Branham that day was serene and peaceful. Brother Branham often told us parables, answering questions we had in our minds without us asking.
On this evening, the parable was of the rich young ruler. Brother Branham painted a picture so vividly with words that you could see the young ruler. We could feel the turmoil the young ruler was feeling. But Brother Branham made it possible for us to make a different decision than that of the young ruler. He has guided us thru the years and his voice has always been with us. I cherish those times I had with Brother Branham. As Brother Branham mentions on the tape, He was my spiritual father, and he still is today.
"Kids, you, each one, seem like mine. You, each one, seem like just my sons and daughters. In one way, you are, see, spiritually speaking. That's right. The Lord God has--has put your souls into my care, because you come, listen to me. You believe me. See? And in one sense of the word, you are my sons and daughters. That's right.

We are blessed today with the opportunity to hear the same message that Sister Marilyn heard 45 years ago, and to follow the same commandment.
