Jeffreys Bay Youth Gathering
Thursday, June 26, 2008
This is a short report of a young people’s camp in South Africa.
The meetings were held in a place called Jeffrey's Bay, which is a holiday resort situated 700 kilometers from Cape Town, SA. They were arranged by a pastor from Port Elizabeth, Brother David Du Preez, who felt upon his heart to do something for the young people. From Pretoria, to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Worcestor, Knysna, Oudtshoorn, East London, and even from Harare Zimbabwe the youth came to attend the meetings.
The camp started on Friday night with about 80 young people, and by Saturday another 20 joined the group. There were many speakers that helped encourage the young believers over the weekend. The theme of the camp was "Perfect Submission Perfect Delight." Every morning, a time of devotion was spent before breakfast, which was followed by a service. After Lunch, they enjoyed some games and fellowship. The weather was not too favorable to take them to the sea, which was just about five minutes from the camp. The evenings were concluded by a service and some singing.
On Saturday, they were broken into eight groups and were given questionnaires on the Message. It was exciting to see how they were debating amongst themselves for the right answers.
At the end of the camp, a young man who is an attorney ended by saying to the
young people to “always go back to the original Word as we were shown by Brother
Branham.” It was thrilling to see how the young people participated more and more as the camp progressed.
In conclusion, I want to say that the Lord has really been here and met with
the young people.
- God bless you
