Pforzheim, Germany Youth Banquet Thursday, June 26, 2008

Here is a report from a Germany youth banquet that was held this past weekend.

It was the longest day of the year, and there was much excitement amongst the young believers in the town of Pforzheim. Located at the gate of the Black Forest, Pforzheim is a town in southwest Germany where a group of believers gathered for a youth banquet on the Saturday evening of June 21st. Nearly 40 youth from Germany, Holland, and France attended, and a special convoy of two 9-passenger vans traveled across the Alps from Italy to join the event. Many had different national backgrounds and came from various churches. Some were students, and others had jobs. Yet there was something that all had in common; they shared a love for the Message of the hour spoken by God’s prophet Brother Branham.

Each was warmly welcomed at the German Country Inn, and then the evening was opened in prayer. The banquet started with a healthy appetizer, which also whetted an appetite for fellowship with each other. A hearty buffet and a sweet dessert followed, accompanied by more Christian fellowship.

In the course of the evening, the focus shifted to the crossword puzzle. The puzzle was labeled “William Branham Sermon Titles” and contained hints for many of the translated sermons. Both an Italian and German version was passed out. Tie-breaker questions from the sermon “How The Angel Came To Me” determined two excited young ladies as the winners; one who spoke German and the other, Italian. There was a reward for the two winners in the form of a handsome Message-journal, signed by Brother Joseph Branham, along with a "Brother William Branham" signature pen.

Brother Gerald Buitenkamp (VGR European Office) shared his personal testimonies and experiences he had during his youth with the group. He also announced the 2008 Young Foundations Camp to be held in Italy.

It was well after midnight when the evening and fellowship ended. Nobody wanted to leave. When everyone parted at the parking lot, the happiness and joy they experienced throughout the evening continued on with them. It was a time to remember!
