Africa Youth Rally Monday, June 16, 2008

The youth are at it again, and this time it’s in the far province of Kimberly, South Africa. One hundred and eighty young believers from the cities of East London, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Stutterheim, Bloemfontein, Richie, and Botshebelo arrived for a Friday evening service and weekend retreat.

Brother Keith Herne (VGR RSA office manager) was asked to come and address the youth Friday night at a local Message church, and would be there throughout the weekend to encourage them about the importance of the Message.

Here is Brother Keith’s report:

On Friday evening, I was called upon to address the group of young people that was gathered in Brother Owens’ church.

The next day being Saturday, we gathered on a school ground, where more of the youth came from different places. They were made up into groups and given questionnaires of the Message, which was very exciting to see how they conversed with each other just to get the correct answers.

While they were playing football and cricket, I managed to single out some of them at random to interview them on video. It was so heart warming just to hear their personal experiences with the Lord. I was called upon again in the evening before supper to speak to the young group. Afterwards they broke into singing.

Sunday morning they were given an opportunity to share some testimonies after the service. Sunday afternoon, Brother Owen separated the married couples from the singles. It was very encouraging to see and hear how the Message is a major part in both the groups’ lives.

Sunday evening, Brother Peter spoke of how Brother Branham said how Daniel as a young man stood against the sin of the day and reminded the people how the Message is the standard in their lives today. He gave an altar call, and 100% of the young people rededicated their lives to the Lord.

On Monday morning before leaving, Brother Owen called on me to say a last few words of encouragement to them, and I told them about the bear that was so full of honey, so they can allow the others to lick from them.

The whole theme of the weekend was to get the young people more involved, and to emphasize the importance to them of listening and getting into the Message for themselves.

We’re thankful that the same theme for Young Foundations is shared by and being spread to the youth and adults alike in many parts of the world. Truly, our core desire is to get the believing youth of this world focused on God’s Word. The youth of today are the strength of tomorrow if the Lord does tarry, and we want this Message instilled in our hearts, so that we may prepare ourselves for His coming and carry this foundation on to future generations.
