Brother Branham's Birthday Sunday, April 06, 2008

Ninety-nine years ago to this day, Brother Branham was born in the hills of Southern Kentucky. It was a strange thing to the mountain people of Kentucky when they witnessed the peculiar birth of the first child of Charles and Ella Branham. As Brother Branham put it, they were a superstitious people. He was just a little bitty fellow, only weighing five pounds, but a great, supernatural event took place at his birth that marked the beginning of the predestined life to a prophet of God.

“I was born, only weighed five pounds, little bitty fellow. I lived in a little old log cabin. The picture hangs in my house today, that a person painted for me in California, of the little old log cabin. And in there, in this little log cabin, that morning on April the 6th, when the midwife opened up the window, so the light could shine in to show--let mama see what I looked like, and papa. When they looked in the... In there was Light come whirling through the window about the size of a pillow. And it circled around where I was, and went down on the bed. Several of the mountain people were standing there. They were crying. My people back before me were Catholic. I'm Irish on both sides. And so they were... They... My people, not my mother and father, because they'd gotten away from the church. And then, they didn't know what happened. 'Course, you know how superstitious the mountain people is, said, "That young'n that was borned over yonder on the hill," you know. "There was a Light appeared over yonder in a room. Wonder what kind of a young'n it'll be." See? "He will be born somewhere. He will be certain-certain things." You know how mountain people are.”

Today is a special day for us to recognize the birth of the Messenger to this last Church Age. Though William Branham's birth and life may have been insignificant to the world, it has brought hope and life to us, God’s called out children. God chose a poor, humble man from Kentucky to bring a Message that would revolutionize the lives of millions. That Message didn’t die when God called him home 43 years ago, but it’s still bringing souls into the Kingdom of God today. Take a minute to reflect on the impact this Message and Messenger has had on your life. Truly we are blessed and so thankful that God allowed us to recognize and hear His prophet’s Voice.
